Daniel X: Watch the Skies is my first foray into the young adult series of books by James Patterson, the first of which was The Dangerous Days of Daniel X.
Daniel X is in pursuit of an alien called Number 5, who has recently arrived in the town of Holliswood with a dastardly plan. He uses electronic brainwashing to get the townspeople to break out into humiliating dances, and then they are obliterated. It’s all in the name of alien “endertainment” and is broadcast live to alien planets.
Daniel X, a good alien, uses his imagination to conjure up characters who team with him in his quest to stop the bad aliens. These characters and his relationship with them is incredibly interesting, and adds a terrific element to the story.
The novel is addictive for all ages and with the short 2-3 page chapters, the reader is convinced to read just one more chapter, then one more, over and over, to see what could possibly happen next. The pace is quick, the excitement is palpable, and the story is just great fun!
James Patterson, you’ve done it again!
A big thank you to Mother Talk for providing the review copy of the book and for allowing me to take part in the blog tour.

It's nice to get a review by someone who's not trying to push sales!
I love James Patterson! His Lake house series is amazing! I'll have to check these out
I've read a few of his books and love his style. An alien one sounds fascinating.
I read about 2 pages into the lamest novel that I have yet to pick up (my husband picked it up in an airport bookstore). I didn't finish it I thought it was so incredibly lame. My husband wished that he hadn't finished it once he had. It was written by James Patterson. It was such an incredibly bad experience (yes, 2 pages of a book) that any book written by him will forever be tainted for me! But I'm glad you enjoyed your read.
My mother in law was over yesterday talking about that book. I don't think she knows it's a "young adult" series, and she is convinced that Daniel X must be imagining the aliens due to scizophrenia. So she is waiting for the big "twist".
