There is no funny in this movie. There are multiple and repeated attempts at funny, none of which work. I tried to throw a teehee out there now and then, in an attempt to trick myself into seeing the humor, but all I could muster up was a sniff. I don't think my daughter even managed a sniff. It's just awful.
I tell you because I care.

I wanted to see this movie because of Bradley Cooper, until I watched the lastest trailers for this movie.....and it didn't look funny at all.

Avoid GAMER, too. Son talked us into going to that with him, and it was AWFUL, bloody, violent, depraved. Son said he would read the reviews before the next time. Looked like a good sci-fi, but it missed.

I concur Dr. Violet. I found myself also trying hard to see humor in the movie (just saw it tonight). It was a let down for sure. However, it wasn't the worst movie ever, but certainly not anything to write home to Mama about.

thanks for the heads up. The preview usually tries too hard if a comedy is not really very good and this one did seem a little forced. Besides that Bradley guy makes me kind of crazy with that maniacal grin of his that both attracts and repulses - like rubbernecking a car accident. I saw Inglorious Basterds and was shocked how much I liked it - formerly not being a Tarintino fan at all :)

i wasn't planning on seeing it in the theatre, so thank you for letting me know how bad it really was so i can avoid renting it. hubs and i saw The Hangover, which Bradley was awesome in, and he didn't look awesome in the trailers for 'Steve'. hubs would want to rent it to see him. now i have ammo. we will try to see Extract this weekend. we are Mike Judge fans, so hopefully it is not a stinker. go see Julie and Julia. all the people i know have said Meryl is awesome. i did see The Proposal with Sandy and that WAS good. too bad for her and her 'Steve'. take care.

Welcome home! I just checked my trusty online movie review website (which is never wrong) and it gave this movie a 5 percent rating, so you are right on the marker here. If you want to see a good movie (go with an open mind) see The Hangover, it has Bradley Cooper in it...you may like him better in this one. But, don't take children!!!! Strictly adults only.. It rated 78 percent.

Here's a flying kiss for that! I hate, repeat, hayyyyyte disappointments when I watch movies that I expect to be a cup of tea. Especially because I'm the type that tries to "fix it" and cough up kidney-hurting forced laughter, when everyone in the room is hating on the movie. Yes, thanks.
