Type-A Mom Conference – Wow, What a Weekend!

I had no idea what to expect from the Type-A Mom conference and I had no idea how much I would enjoy it. It was my first conference, and I think it was a wonderful way to start. It’s on a much smaller scale than BlogHer will ever be, and it offered a real opportunity to network and learn.

My camera is an outdated shmuck of a camera, and I hardly got any shots that came out but I’m posting the halfway decent ones. Most came out pitch black.

Day 1- Speed dating between bloggers and companies – round table chit chat with intros all around and a chance to start meeting each other. That was fun and I met tons of people that way. This was followed by a reception with appetizers and then I went with my lovely friends, Nicole and Jeri from Pink & Posh, to Hibachi in Asheville, where we enjoyed a fabulous dinner!

Day 2 - It began with breakfast and a Dress Barn fashion show. Models were bloggers, of course!

The rest of the day was divided into power breakout sessions. I attended Blogger Outreach and Online Public Relations, Branding 2.0, Selling Advertising on your Blog, and Earning Money via Blogging.

Then it was off to Bistro 1896 for the speaker dinner. (speakers- @jessicaknows @momdotrocks and @rockandrollmama) The food was fabulous, the laughs were many, and the company was wonderful.

Day 3- More power breakout sessions and I attended Blogger’s Balance and Blog Karma and Social Capital. We broke for a boxed lunch and then had a Blogger Town Hall Meeting. This was followed by an ice cream break and then a Keynote Address.

We wrapped up the conference with a local beer and BBQ, wine and cheese bash!

There are some really wonderful women within this blogging community, and I’m thrilled to have met so many of them.

Although it was my first conference, it will not be my last. It was absolutely fabulous and I learned so much.

And most importantly, I could not have attended without the support and sponsorship of Mom’s Best Naturals cereal! Thank you so much!

PS. I know this was just a tiny look at the conference and I didn’t go into the heart of what I learned, because it would have been a long, long, long post!
