I'm nosy and I gotta know what you people do. But, I refused to look at my google reader until just this morning and then I cried.
You guys were posting and living and posting and doing and posting and (eating <--- this much I assume) and posting. A lot.
When I saw my unread posts I had to walk away from the computer and curse.
I looked in the mirror and cursed and cried.

I cursed my 5 day vacation for all of the unread posts...
...but mostly I cursed the fact that when I looked in the mirror, I saw some suspicious facial fullness, so I made a guess of how much weight I'd gained over the last 5 days and stepped on the scale to see if I was right, and I was.
Thanksgiving is disgusting.

But at least now you have plenty to distract you from a whole host of things you'd rather not be doing :) Hope you have a Happy start to the Christmas season!
awww :) you are too silly sometimes! if you put on a couple ounces it just means you did thanksgiving right! i hope you enjoyed your break. don't even try to catch up, you will eventually.
Hun don't worry about it. I mean really just hit the ones that ttruly catch your eye and don't worry bout the rest.. it takes teh fun out of it if you do that much all at once...
I give myself breaks sometimes, too, then am sorry I did when I see my reader. I usually try to visit everyone but don't even attempt to read every post. Not enough hours in the day.
Welcome back!!!
Haha, I bet everyone gained some weight over the past 5 days! It's hard to not eat the fridge full of leftovers. Unfortunately we're still working our way through them all here at my house.
I did the same thing. Forced myself away from the computer and gained a few pounds. What a nightmare! Ugh!
Oh no...glad I have kept up so far.. I will not promise to stay that way.
Give yourself a break...we understand and glad you had a nice time.. if the pounds are any indication.
xx
Welcome back! I think we all gained some weight over Thanksgiving. Don't stress over getting to all the posts, just read what you can. Glad to have you back, I missed ya!
I could have written that. Except I'm too busy trying to clear out my reader to actually write anything.
At least you had 'real' Thanksgiving as an excuse. Me? I just "borrowed" your Thanksgiving so I had an excuse to feast like we really had Thanksgiving here. :)
That one ran the emotional gambit, didn't it? You set me up for the end and I didn't fail you; I LAUGHED....because I felt your pain...oh, wait a minute, that's MY waistline I felt!
Good to see you back!
Jeepers, I must have gained 5 lbs eating those gosh darn deserts I'm so thankful for.
And it ain't over yet...
Posting and living indeed we were. If I had Thanksgiving AND Christmas my bodyweight would simply increase forever, so I'm just glad we don't do Thanksgiving.
I did like you....I didn't read, but I did clear it out every day...the horrors if I didn't.
Glad to see you back and glad you took a break. We all need that. I take a few days here and there and feel bad about not posting, replying to other's posts. Being Military my family wants to know what we are up to. If I go too long I will get a phone call. HA Have a great Monday.

I'm with you on gaining weight and not reading blogs during the weekend. I think I might just have to start over today.
Good for you. I took a break on Thursday, only. :o( I'm an addict.
It's kind of like reality tv
It is an overeaters dream isn't it? I didn't do too bad on the scale but, I did workout this morning after seeing my number so...
So funny. YES, Thanksgiving is disgusting. ;0
Thanksgiving is an evil beast! But I love it! Glad to have you back!
Welcome back! You're not alone, we all ate too much.
I'm so with ya on this. I made this dessert and there's a ton left over and there it sits in my fridge. It's gonna kill me but I've got to shove it down the disposal or I'll eat it all, I swear I will. My plan is to diet like crazy til Christmas.
Everyone forgets their diets over the Seasonal period! Don't worry about it, just make a New Year Resolution that you will try harder next year!
Hope you enjoyed your break!
Don't get on the scale. Problem solved.
:)
Oh their is no telling how much weight I gained!!! Glad you are back. :)
Oh, i put the scale away. Will stepped on it after one week exercise :)
You are so funny! I didn't fare too bad but now I really have to get it together and eat pretty good this week! Have fun catching up!
scales are from the devil...
Blue Violet, welcome back! I 'm with Sheila. haha!I use to do that .
I love all my followers and i usually try to visit them but sometimes it's impossible !.There's always lack of time.
lots of love
hugs hugs
-->Welcome back. I took a break from bloggin' over the long weekend too. Although I did just post a picture of Naked Lady Glasses. haha...
www.websavymom.com
I'm so glad that you got time to yourself though. Thats amazing. A few pounds will go away on their own once you get addicted again. giggles
Ahhhh, step away from the scale!
yeah but you must admit every pound tasted delicious, didn't it?
Oh I hear ya on the weight gain! With Christmas and New Years barreling down on us, can't wait to see the scales in January!!!
I too tried to keep away from blog reading but just couldn't help myself. We have a three-week vacation planned in January and I want to stay home!!
Don't I know it.... Only, really, every weekend I eat like crazy and say the same thing on Monday. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME! I say erase everything and start fresh : )
I know the feeling all too well. My Google Reader has been spilling over for months now, and I can't catch up, but I also can't give up on it!
mine should be easy, 1post friday each... :)
Stepping on the scale after Thanksgiving is the worst thing I did all week! Back to exercising...
It's just water weight, it will come right off :)
What is even more disgusting is that my husband and I and 2 kids, who basically never eat, bought a turkey to feed 12-14, as well as all the other stuff - and we ate it!
All by ourselves.
I never want to eat turkey again.
I am so sick of turkey!!! UGH. I think I'll send the leftovers to The Girl Next Door...her family seems to like turkey..LOL.
As you already know, I have an award for you! I'm so glad you saw the post. I love your blog..I especially love how you always take the time to visit others considering you have so many followers and so many comments on all your posts to read. You are a super blogger! I love reading other people's blogs but I am so behind and feel terrible about it.
ok, can i be the first cruel person to point out that if you had, in fact, been blogging instead of eating, you would not have been fearing the scale this morning. just sayin'.
haha! that was a joke! after reading your post, i don't feel so bad...i did a "skim" job all weekend and, man, did i feel guilty about it! so guilty, in fact, that i turned to food for comfort. AAAAAK!
Oh, I am with you on this...I know what I'll be doing all day and it doesn't involve cleaning, or decorating or exercising.
I missed you. ;)
Glad you took some time for you, but even happier you're back. ;)
Yeah that is why I don't use a mirror or a scale. LOL
Good luck catching up.
Don't feel bad! You needed a little ME time! I wasn't online a whole lot during the holiday break either. I'm paying for it now though...trying to play catch up!
Don't fret about catching up with blogs. It is kinda like laundry....It will never be caught up!
Haha - we all need to take a little break every now and then! And don't worry about the facial fullness either... I was right there with you! I gained 4 pounds on Thanksgiving - 4 pounds in 1 day!!! I think I ate too much ha!
Click that little "Mark as Read" button.
Yeah, okay, first...Thanksgiving sucks. And I swear, I eat normal amounts of everything except the dang rolls and a dozen rolls just isn't good for the thighs, ugh. Two, I think next year we should make everyone promise not to post anything for a full 4 days! I mean seriously, it's crazy how many people still posted every day this weekend.
I can only imagine how your reader looked...I'd cry too. Actually no, I'd mark all as read and be done with it. I've done that a few times, I admit. When the number gets past 3 digits...sometimes closer to 4?? Mark all as read LOL
Hope you had a great holiday weekend :)
HA - I gain weight either way!!
maybe it is disgusting.. but.. it's sooo good while it's going on!!!!
So glad to have you back! I would have loved a break from this NaBloPoMo stuff! No weight gained from turkey here. Happens when you spend Thanksgivingor dinner in Labor & Delivery. Thankfully false alarm!
You are such a great blog friend its great to have you back!
I lots of wight to lose, glad youe=r back
Not much hope until January. You may as well enjoy the holidays!
welcome back! I took a few days off too, and I feel like I'm recovering from blog withdrawl! btw, I ate almost a whole pumpkin cheesecake over the weekend, and I don't even LIKE pumpkin.
I am so with you on this one! I took a little bloggy break over the holidays too and to come back and see all these posts! I feel like I'll never catch up!
We all deserve breaks from blogging or reading blogs--but it's true that when we try to give ourselves a break we end up having so much to catch up on!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Just stopped by from Hearts Make Families.
Hope you have a wonderfully blessed day!
andrea
and Christmas is even more disgusting!!!
I hear ya. I am having issues too.
You are cracking me up! I hear you about the google reader AND my fuller face! I'm just glad I'm not hungover anymore.
Im having issues too
Well, if you do nothing but read blog posts to catch up you will be busy for three days and not eat and it will make up for all that you ate on your vacation, right?
heh heh
I've been gone for over a week and I just wanna shoot myself trying to catch up- ugh. Maybe we could all decide to let this past week slide...
good to have you back, you have to take a break once in a while.. spend some time with family and jump back in again
I had the same feeling over the weekend...yikes
We're all in the same boat. We miss blogging, and we overeat and gain weight around Thanksgiving. Join the crowd.
I gained 2, lost one. Today it's back to the South Beach Diet for life. UGH!
LOL...I'm right there w/ ya!!
I'm hearin' ya! Eat now, diet later. That's my motto. lol
(Obviously)

All That and a Box of Rocks
I am sooooooo with you. We were eating left overs until Sunday and I am sooooo over it! Back to spin class tonight!
OMG!! Mammatalk is hilarious!!
Hey, I take breaks too. But when I am forced away, I get all "computer itchy":)
The scale sucks. I figure that I am already chubby so one big meal isn't gonna do anything, but maybe clog my arteries:)
When I looked in the mirror this past weekend I saw the damage the new makeup I was using did. My face was swollen and I had red itchy blotches all over it. Though my wrinkles were pumped up a bit because of the swollen face:)
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Vacay:)
LOL! Breaks are totally needed - otherwise it will drive you crazy...sometimes I get overwhelmed too, so you are not alone!
I didn't know about the Blogher Event next August but if its in NYC I would totally go and would be so awesome to meet you finally ;-)
XOXO
Amy
LOL! Come on we didn't post that much :)glad you're back with us ;)
I'm not a big overeater. But all that yummy food sure is nice (especially when someone else cooks it)! Good luck catching up on all your posts! Happy Monday!
Try being gone for months :( it's very overwhelming when you come back. Glad you're gonna stalk me again :D I missed ya! ♥
I kept thinking about my growing reader and felt panicky. Crazy.
Read what you can, forgive yourself the rest.
I had to, or else I would become melded to my chair for life.
Teehee ! You make me laugh all the time.
I knew you were missing. I kept wondering where you went.
I feel your presence in the blog community.
So glad you got to go away for a bit and rejuv
I missed you and glad you are back again.
Glad to have you back. I hope you have a great day. NO worries more Holidays are coming. So who cares enjoy yourself and start all over again the first of the year..
Well I am happy to say that I was not part of the trillions of posts you missed over the break because I, like you, actually took a break from blogging to gain weight!
you're welcome!
Love ya!
My scale just happens to be MIA this week.
Bloated, I know that look! I feel your pain. And your water weight
Ugh I'm right there too, I feel your pain, gym tomorrow here I come!!!
Ugh I'm right there too, I feel your pain, gym tomorrow here I come!!!
Missed you, sweetie!
I have a lot of catching up to do, too--happy reading! xo
Welcome back!
I think it's okay to take a few days off, everybody needs a break, but have fun catching up.
I ate like a pig and oinked it, I mean, loved it. I was where there was no TV and no internet for three days and three nights when we were in cabins. The rest of the short week, I mostly had little ones covering my lap! I don't know how young moms blog AT.ALL.
Yo? Where'd you go? And were you back for your big Toy Tuesday day?? Or was that from remote??!
Did BML really choose your winner for you??
The bad news is that I was sick on Thanksgiving, the good news is that I didn't overeat!
Don't worry. It's just water weight. It will be gone by tomorrow.
Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.
I agree with an earlier commenter-- just read the ones that catch your eye!! You know why Thanksgiving is so disgusting? Cause now that I have started eating-- I can't freakin stop!! LOL!! We missed you while you were away too! Have a great week!!
Rachel's right; it's just water weight.
Ohh, the Thanksgiving facial fullness. I feel ya.
I hope you enjoyed yourself while you were away, at least a little! I admit I missed the routine of reading and commenting too and am glad to get back to into it.
Sometimes I look at how many post I am behind and I practically bawl too...I don't know why it's SO important to me to read and comment on all posts. It just is.
And seriously, sometimes you're ONE day behind and there a bazillion to read!
But it tastes so good!
Girl, don't you worry about that 'fullness' you thought you saw. I'm a guessin it had to do with bad lighting over the mirror you were lookin' in!
As for the google reader...that's why they call it a holiday. Hit 'mark all as read' and call it a day!
I have a hard time catching up with blogs if I miss a day. I also remember how hard it was for me to catch up when my computer went on the fritz...so, I'm here for ya, sista!
Ive been away about 2weeks, and i almost passed out today when I saw all the blogs i had missed....oh my, I think I may never catch up
Oh that is too funny! I think my hands would shake if I stayed away too long...and I just started this in October! Addicting!!! But I stepped on the scale too. I know that facial fullness feeling too...just don't tell anyone else...I am hoping they don't notice :)
Aw, I'm sure it can't be that bad! Just get on the floor and do some stomach crunches, then eat a cookie and you'll feel better. That's what I do :).
When your reader gets too full, you just mark all as read and start over again! Same with the scale! haha!
aww... maybe do some crunches while you read posts? hope you had a good thanksgiving.
Welcome back!
You are on dedicated blogger. :)
I hate it when my reader gangs up on me like that! Welcome back!
Curses to the Thanksgiving weight gain!!! Lets hope it is from too much salt bloating you up.
Really glad you're back, blueviolet.
Blogging isn't the same without you!!
I just had that same problem this morning. Getting ready to go back to work, I had to get out of my sweats after a week and put some real clothes on. Ugghhhh! I could barely zip up my pants. I'm in agreement. Thanksgiving is disgusting. How about we not do it again for another year...
welcome back to the blog-o-sphere! i'm sure you are just being hard on yourself. besides, its winter. we're supposed to store up a little extra. it's cold, right?
organicmotherhoodwithcoolwhip.com
wah!!! you are so right and you are making me so sad. it doesn't take much lately, so don't feel bad.
i wish we could bypass the whole holiday things. well, i probably don't REALLY wish that, but some parts of it are rather trying!!!
and my face is rather full right now, too. bleh. your tip for the day: WINE MAKES IT FULLER, and i just had two glasses. brilliant. :(
That is great you got to take a break from blogging. Glad you are back with us now.
I'm glad you are back from your bloggy break! I missed your clever posts.
LOLOLOL, all the blog reading will burn that weight right off...right?? That's what I'm hoping for...
I need to come up with a way to read blogs and exercise at the same time. I'm turning into a blog potato.
Go easy young lady. You were never taught to speak about a holiday that way. Now I want you to do two things.
1) Speak sweetness and sunshine to your body; just look in the mirror and have a love fest-like I do.
2)Now put your arms around Thanksgiving and give it a big ol' hug, tell it your sorry and that you'll see it next year. After that got straight up to bed. NO TV or blogging for you until you learn to make nice.
I can solve the problem...Throw away the mirror.
I keep up with blogs on my dashboard, and I can't even begin to count how long it took me to get to where I left off (when I checked once on Thanksgiving...). I don't read nearly as many blogs as you, so I cannot imagine how many you had to get to after 5 days...! You'll be happy to know I only posted once, on Thanksgiving... No worries about getting to me! LOL! =)
Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
Yea, I think the pumpkin pie went straight to my ass! It didnt help that I ate like a whole pie by myself... ugh. LOL
lol..you will loose it..
do not worry..
welcome back..
Everybody needs a vacation...don't feel guilty!
Even though I have an excuse to gain weight...it still makes me sick!
I tried so very hard to stay away from the computer...but I failed...I also failed to stay away from the sweet potato pie!
Holly @ 504 Main
PS-Grabbed your button!
Oh, don't feel bad, we all gained weight, I'm sure. I hate to be away from the computer for a day, too. I am thinking about the 4-5 days I'm gonna be in the hospital in a couple of weeks and all the stuff I'm gonna miss, especially since it is so close to Christmas.
Besides, we can ALL go on a diet in January!!
I lost weight this last weekend, my Thanksgiving was so ummm, stressful.
Welcome Back, N.S.
Ooh. I gained a few too.
I hear ya on the blogs. Seems like when I have time, not much is being said. Then when I get distracted and off living life, that's when peeps posts lots and Lots and LOTS of entries. Today...I popped in and my reader has over 80.... *sigh*.
I hope you enjoyed your break too. It can take a lot of discipline to stay away from the computer for that long.
Glad you're back. Hope you had a great break.
I'm with you girl. On the weight and the addiction. Stupid blog.
You own a scale? I'm sorry I threw that out years ago :)
I am in the same boat as you right this minute!
I was practicing 'reading deprivation' part of a course I am taking, and it was torture! Pure torture. i ma just now getting caught up on blogs. Made me want to cry too when I saw them all waiting there!
Glad you are back!
how come us women gain weight so much ? My husband doesn't have extra weight suddenly appear?
That's pretty much how I felt today when I looked at my Google Reader. I missed a few days (internet issues) and I feel so behind. Glad I'm not the only one.
