1, 2, 3...Back in Stalker Mode.....NOW!

November 30, 2009

I forced myself not to read blogs while I was away. But, I wanted to. About ten-leventy trillion times.

I'm nosy and I gotta know what you people do. But, I refused to look at my google reader until just this morning and then I cried.

You guys were posting and living and posting and doing and posting and (eating <--- this much I assume) and posting. A lot.

When I saw my unread posts I had to walk away from the computer and curse.

I looked in the mirror and cursed and cried.

I cursed my 5 day vacation for all of the unread posts...

...but mostly I cursed the fact that when I looked in the mirror, I saw some suspicious facial fullness, so I made a guess of how much weight I'd gained over the last 5 days and stepped on the scale to see if I was right, and I was.

Thanksgiving is disgusting.

But at least now you have plenty to distract you from a whole host of things you'd rather not be doing :) Hope you have a Happy start to the Christmas season!

awww :) you are too silly sometimes! if you put on a couple ounces it just means you did thanksgiving right! i hope you enjoyed your break. don't even try to catch up, you will eventually.

Hun don't worry about it. I mean really just hit the ones that ttruly catch your eye and don't worry bout the rest.. it takes teh fun out of it if you do that much all at once...

I give myself breaks sometimes, too, then am sorry I did when I see my reader. I usually try to visit everyone but don't even attempt to read every post. Not enough hours in the day.

Welcome back!!!

Tori said...

Haha, I bet everyone gained some weight over the past 5 days! It's hard to not eat the fridge full of leftovers. Unfortunately we're still working our way through them all here at my house.

PropellerHeadMom said...

I did the same thing. Forced myself away from the computer and gained a few pounds. What a nightmare! Ugh!

Vodka Logic said...

Oh no...glad I have kept up so far.. I will not promise to stay that way.

Give yourself a break...we understand and glad you had a nice time.. if the pounds are any indication.

Welcome back! I think we all gained some weight over Thanksgiving. Don't stress over getting to all the posts, just read what you can. Glad to have you back, I missed ya!

kys said...

I could have written that. Except I'm too busy trying to clear out my reader to actually write anything.

Buckeroomama said...

At least you had 'real' Thanksgiving as an excuse. Me? I just "borrowed" your Thanksgiving so I had an excuse to feast like we really had Thanksgiving here. :)

My name is PJ. said...

That one ran the emotional gambit, didn't it? You set me up for the end and I didn't fail you; I LAUGHED....because I felt your pain...oh, wait a minute, that's MY waistline I felt!

Good to see you back!

Jeepers, I must have gained 5 lbs eating those gosh darn deserts I'm so thankful for.
And it ain't over yet...

Posting and living indeed we were. If I had Thanksgiving AND Christmas my bodyweight would simply increase forever, so I'm just glad we don't do Thanksgiving.

I did like you....I didn't read, but I did clear it out every day...the horrors if I didn't.

Glad to see you back and glad you took a break. We all need that. I take a few days here and there and feel bad about not posting, replying to other's posts. Being Military my family wants to know what we are up to. If I go too long I will get a phone call. HA Have a great Monday.

I'm so with ya on this. I made this dessert and there's a ton left over and there it sits in my fridge. It's gonna kill me but I've got to shove it down the disposal or I'll eat it all, I swear I will. My plan is to diet like crazy til Christmas.

Oh I hear ya on the weight gain! With Christmas and New Years barreling down on us, can't wait to see the scales in January!!!

I too tried to keep away from blog reading but just couldn't help myself. We have a three-week vacation planned in January and I want to stay home!!

Don't I know it.... Only, really, every weekend I eat like crazy and say the same thing on Monday. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME! I say erase everything and start fresh : )

What is even more disgusting is that my husband and I and 2 kids, who basically never eat, bought a turkey to feed 12-14, as well as all the other stuff - and we ate it!

All by ourselves.

I never want to eat turkey again.

Ida Red (aka Richele) said...

I am so sick of turkey!!! UGH. I think I'll send the leftovers to The Girl Next Door...her family seems to like turkey..LOL.

As you already know, I have an award for you! I'm so glad you saw the post. I love your blog..I especially love how you always take the time to visit others considering you have so many followers and so many comments on all your posts to read. You are a super blogger! I love reading other people's blogs but I am so behind and feel terrible about it.

Noelle said...

ok, can i be the first cruel person to point out that if you had, in fact, been blogging instead of eating, you would not have been fearing the scale this morning. just sayin'.

haha! that was a joke! after reading your post, i don't feel so bad...i did a "skim" job all weekend and, man, did i feel guilty about it! so guilty, in fact, that i turned to food for comfort. AAAAAK!

mama-face said...

Oh, I am with you on this...I know what I'll be doing all day and it doesn't involve cleaning, or decorating or exercising.

Don't fret about catching up with blogs. It is kinda like laundry....It will never be caught up!

Mama Michie (aka Michaela) said...

Haha - we all need to take a little break every now and then! And don't worry about the facial fullness either... I was right there with you! I gained 4 pounds on Thanksgiving - 4 pounds in 1 day!!! I think I ate too much ha!

Kristina P. said...

Click that little "Mark as Read" button.

Laura said...

Yeah, okay, first...Thanksgiving sucks. And I swear, I eat normal amounts of everything except the dang rolls and a dozen rolls just isn't good for the thighs, ugh. Two, I think next year we should make everyone promise not to post anything for a full 4 days! I mean seriously, it's crazy how many people still posted every day this weekend.

•´.¸¸.•¨¯`♥.Erin.♥´¯¨•.¸¸.´• said...

I can only imagine how your reader looked...I'd cry too. Actually no, I'd mark all as read and be done with it. I've done that a few times, I admit. When the number gets past 3 digits...sometimes closer to 4?? Mark all as read LOL

Hope you had a great holiday weekend :)

Hey, I take breaks too. But when I am forced away, I get all "computer itchy":)

The scale sucks. I figure that I am already chubby so one big meal isn't gonna do anything, but maybe clog my arteries:)

When I looked in the mirror this past weekend I saw the damage the new makeup I was using did. My face was swollen and I had red itchy blotches all over it. Though my wrinkles were pumped up a bit because of the swollen face:)

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Vacay:)

Girl, don't you worry about that 'fullness' you thought you saw. I'm a guessin it had to do with bad lighting over the mirror you were lookin' in!

As for the google reader...that's why they call it a holiday. Hit 'mark all as read' and call it a day!

Cathy said...

Aw, I'm sure it can't be that bad! Just get on the floor and do some stomach crunches, then eat a cookie and you'll feel better. That's what I do :).

strokeofliving said...

Go easy young lady. You were never taught to speak about a holiday that way. Now I want you to do two things.

1) Speak sweetness and sunshine to your body; just look in the mirror and have a love fest-like I do.

2)Now put your arms around Thanksgiving and give it a big ol' hug, tell it your sorry and that you'll see it next year. After that got straight up to bed. NO TV or blogging for you until you learn to make nice.

The Redhead Riter said...

I can solve the problem...Throw away the mirror.

The Jacobsen Family! said...

I keep up with blogs on my dashboard, and I can't even begin to count how long it took me to get to where I left off (when I checked once on Thanksgiving...). I don't read nearly as many blogs as you, so I cannot imagine how many you had to get to after 5 days...! You'll be happy to know I only posted once, on Thanksgiving... No worries about getting to me! LOL! =)
