We live right next to a school and there are 3 classrooms which look out at my house. So, I got jiggy with it. I began to stomp rather clownishly. I turned in circles, I pumped my elbows, I jumped, smashed, and squished.

And then I jumped out.
Except my jump was more of a fall. The kind where you land and then scuttle backwards trying to maintain your balance but end up falling over onto your butt but the force takes you onto your back and you have your legs in the air like a dying bug and you look over and see kids pointing and laughing at you from the windows of all 3 classrooms.
It was that kind of fall.

oooh nooo! lol i got the full visual with your description! if i was you i would have been mortified...if i was one of those kids...i'd be laughing too!! ;o)
i hope you didn't get hurt from falling!!
ha. love it. and you know they do too.
When I first started to read I was so worried that this incident would lead to a ER visit. I'm so happy to hear that it ended in a comedic pratfall. So the moral is; if you can't be graceful, at least be funny.
Just think how many dinner-table stories you starred in last night.
Girl you know how to spread some cheer!
(and how much do I love that your son can pick you up! Only a matter of minutes here too.)
Awesome! lol. Look at all the giggles you spread that day, how wonderful! (hope your butt is ok, lol)
Thanks for sharing that story, it's going to keep me from going to breakfast in a grumpy mood. You can't be grumpy when you're smiling. :)
Hope you're okay.
smoooooth.
and I love you for dancing around in the first place.
Just think, you probably brightened up a bunch of kids' day by making them laugh (I'm assuming you weren't hurt too much)
...And then you SMILE and take a deep, over-the-top bow...because you MEANT to fall! :)
Think of all the great stories those kids will have to tell their parents when they home from school now. LOL
Did you laugh hysterically? I would have!
LOL. I know exactly how you were dancing, what face you were making, and how you fell.
I bet the teachers loved you that day! :) A little comic relief in the middle of the day makes better learners (speaking as a former teacher!) See, you were improving our education system!
haha that is so funny. I can so picture you in that container getting jiggy with it!
OMG, you have me laughing out loud and I haven't even finished my morning coffee! Thanks, this visual has made my day and here I was planning to rake leaves today!
LOL!!! It least you were having fun...and making people laugh. Laughter is great medicine.
(I hope you are o.k.)
Awesome!
I hate when that happens...
Oh no! You probably didn't score a "10" for grace that day! :)
So funny!!
-->What a great break in the day for all those kids! (I'm glad you were okay too.)

Seriously that is just too funny I can totally picture it now. LOL What a crack up.
A Candid Camera moment.
Well at least besides raking the leaves you managed to entertain a bunch of people too! Multi tasking at it's best!
I would've jumped up and given some grand finale gesture and then bowed or curtseyed. LMAO!!
I love this! You know you made those kids' day and even gave them something to talk about at home.
Oh yeah, that totally sounds like something I would do! Dang! :-) I wish your son had taken photos.
At least you could amuse the school kids!
The picture in my mind is even funnier what with the leaves in your hair and all.
FALL! hahah heheh
You probably made those kids' day - now the teachers on the other hand may not have appreciated it. Hope you are not suffering any ill side effects from your fall.
Oh this is a funny thing to see. I hope you are okay....
Slightly embarassing but at least you went for the fun of it! This is one of those stories you can remember and tell for years, and something that would happen to me on a pretty consistent basis.
no pics???? lol kidding
hope you didn't hurt yourself, but it sounds like you had yourself a little fun.
It's not important what they remember you for, it's important they remember you!
I am sure you made their day!!! Kids love it when adults act silly, especially when they end up falling on their behind. LOL
Hope you are okay.
Cece
I love how descriptive you were... " legs in the air like a dying bug " indeed! :) Glad you're okay, though.
Hilarious. I love that you had so much fun and then fell. that is all part of the fun isn't it?
hahahaha, that's great! ;-)
Love it! You made me smile and felt happy like a child. My son loves that too!
Hope you didn't get hurt. You probably made those kids' day!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
lol I can only imagine the embarassment if one of your kids was in one of the classrooms. Not you embarassment but theirs. :)
I hope you took a bow! You probably brought a needed respite to their busy day.
Love the little jumping guy!
Oh...poor thing!! See, that's why I don't do leaves!!
: ) I hate it when that happens! Maybe if you think of it as spreading joy and happiness?!
Ah, you probably fell on purpose to see how many comments you would get! haha!
Awesome!!. You made me smile!
hugs hugs
verrrry unfortunate :D
I am a board certified Klutz (yeah they give you a certificate and everything) so I've had more than my share of moments like this! I feel your pain!
you're so funny!
Sounds extremely entertaining!! I'm hoping someone caught it on tape for us to see :)
Someone seriously should just follow you around with a camera. If we lived closer I would totally volunteer.
Great visual! That is so something I would do.
I love your WW post too, so much love in so few words.
Gracefulness is overrated. You made their day.
do you ever get super scared about what's living in dead leaves when you jump in them? I do. often. But I'm crazy.
Oh what I wouldnt give to have been a kid in one of those classrooms!
what a great day, you got your yard clean and the kids got a break from the mundane....cool;)
hope u didnt hurt anything in the fall.
Hahaha! I love it! And I love that your son just threw you into the trash.
ooooh i love it! imagine what those kids went home and told mommy and daddy they learned today.. lol!!
LOL I can so see the whole scenerio. hahaha Look at it this way, you broke up the day for them and gave them a laugh. :)
I was raking yesterday and my cell phone fell out of my hoodie pocket. I dug and dug through piles of leaves looking for it. LOL Found it a foot under full of wet crunched leaves! YUCK Still working tho! LOL
http://www.homespunheartscandles.blogspot.com
I love jumping in leaves! The falling part does not sound quite as fun though.
LMAO!
Thanks for sharing! I got a good chuckle picturing that scene!
Wow ... sounds oddly like something that would happen to me ...
Too funny!!! I so needed that laugh today!!! :)
I'm laughing at the visual I have....lol!
You made alot of children happy. You are now a Legend in the neighborhood and next raking session the kids will be watching you for sure!
Were any of them taking video with their cell phones? You may already be a hit on YouTube or MySpace :-)
Just think, you probably invented a new game for all the kids at school to try. You are now the popular kid at school!
I love the "legs in the air like a bug" description...
oh dear! klassic klutz move! i am way too familiar with such moves! and i hope you were not hurt!
Awesomeness!
Are you okay? Cause my mom always told me to make sure that everyones okay BEFORE you burst out laughing at their expense... ;o)
My best, Lynn
Ha, what a nice way for you to brighten their day with a little laughter!
Well, That's Entertainment as they say
hey, hope you are OK after all that.. =D
Loved your blog and I'm following you!
xoxo
I hope that you didn't bruise your tailbone! That smarts!
Look at you! 1000 followers, you're my hero!
so funny! But are you ok?
That is funny. I can picture you falling from your description. Funny! At least you entertained 3 classes of kids.
Just think, you made math, english and history a little more entertaining for the kids that day!
Hilarious!!! uh, I mean, I hope you weren't injured;)
I bet they're all just waiting to see what you'll do come snow time! lol!
(missed you!)
Oh, no! I hope you weren't hurt. I'll bet those kids were so jealous that you got to play in the leaves and they were stuck in a classroom. :)
Oh...if only there was a video to capture it!
Oh my gosh SO funny. Too funny for words. I could totally picture this!
At least it was fun for awhile, and now you have a most embarrassing story to tell at those holiday parties!
LOL
I couldn't help but giggle.
Are you shitting me? Not about falling... that part I can believe. But you actually got in the trash bin and stomped around? God knows what's been in there before the leaves!
Damn, it coulda been such a Kodak moment.
Justine :o )
Cute & funny story ! New follower to your blog :0
LOL! Didn't anyone catch that on film?? Next time somebody better be ready (-:
I absolutely love this story. It sounds like a Lucy story.
if only this was on video! LOVE this story.
So you achieved the goal, then....:)))
And did you wave at the kids? Maybe you should send the school a bill for providing entertainment. :)
Oh No! LOL!!
Wonderful visual, made me remember when someone pantsed me in orchestra. Horrible.
On the other hand, made me wanna go kick up some leaves!
So you don't just keep us laughing but also the kids at school. You are too kind!
THAT is hysterical. There are falls and then there are FALLS. Yours sounds like the latter!
That is too funny! You probably made their day!
Just stopped by from SITS to say hi; hope you'll do the same.
I hope the kids aren't traumatized!! How is your ego? BTW!!! That is so funny:)
The imagery here is too much! Sure do wish I'd been in one of those classrooms...
I'm so happy to know you. You make me feel better about myself. ;)
I just love it, I can see this now!
thanks for being so loyal to me!
even when I am in a comment slump!
Love you!!
Oh I hope you don't end up with a sore behind in a couple of days. I did something similar once, the fall, not the reason for the fall, and I chipped a bone in my behind.
Not a good situation.
Love it! You are quite the entertainment factor, aren't you? ;)
Man, the visual is fantastic--I could even see the kids. Hilarious :)
And that is the best kind of fall. One where you don't really get hurt, but it's incredibly entertaining for those around you. :)
i hope it did not hurt your back!!
be careful..
Oh I wish I could have seen that! So that I could help you up, not laugh at you, of course! (At least not until I was sure you were okay!)
Ok I'm going to assume that you are ok since you are typing this. And then I have to tell you I had tears going down my face with the visual that you gave me. I was laughing so hard I was crying.
Just think about the fact that you created a lifelong memory for those kids! Truly CLASSIC! Yet another reason why I adore you!
You've given a lot of people a good laugh!--First the school children (why weren't they paying attention in class, anyway?) and now all of us bloggers (who should be doing dishes and wrapping presents for tomorrow's birthday party and going to bed!).
I love the visual to go along with your story. Where do you find them? or do you create them?
oh no that isn't fun but the leaf jumping probably made it all worth it right?
Those are the kind of video's that make me laugh my ass off. :)
How fun!!!! Living in San Diego, the trees don't really change color but when we were in St. Louis I LOVED watching the leaves turn & fall...I wish I would have jumped in a pile!!! <3
That's what you get for showing off.
LOLOLOL, I'm sure that made their day!!!
LOL! You're not alone. I was the bus stop entertainment yesterday. Come check out my post.... It's ok if you point and laugh at me, I don't blame you.
http://rantraveroll.blogspot.com/2009/11/now-im-traumatizing-neighbors.html
Now that was funny!! Fortunately, raking leaves is something we don't have to do over here!
ROFL!! OH, that mental picture has me rolling!! I wish I were there to see it in person...I'd laugh hysterically, then make sure you were ok, then laugh some more. I'm bad about laughing like that. I come by it honestly. =)
He He! I would be snickering while making sure you were okay.
Man I wish I was there to see that! LMAO!
At least you didn't fall while trying to save a bird. Oh...wait...you did that already.
Bet I could do that, too! :o)
When something like that happens, you just stand up and take a bow. You can probably tell I've had experience with embarrassing myself in front of large groups of people!
Sounds very Jerry Lewis! Congrats on reaching 1,000 followers also.
Have a great weekend.
-Luke Sidewalker
But you were having fun before it happened, right? :) Sounds exactly like something I would do.
I am NOTORIOUS for those kind of falls...my best friend actually keeps a mental list and every now and again decides to share it with the world... lol
oh that's funny - I feel out of my chair 2 day sago - my slipper got stuck underneath - my knee is still killing me
Hahaha!!!!!
a PERFECT 10! :)
It was nice of you to entertain them like that... ;)
Awww, I'm so sorry! Sounds totally like something I would do!
The same thing totally would happen to me! Maybe you gave the kiddos a laugh.
What no picture! Oh darling I'm so sorry, but I can't help but laugh. Now my mouth hurts, stupid tooth!
Oh ... OH! Slow motion nooooo! I'm sorry but I couldn't help but chuckle. Just the teeniest bit though. Not too much.
I laughed. I"m sorry :)
You'll remember this and laugh too right?
It's fun and full of life and hilarious!
I could totally see that sort of thing happening to me...ha! But I'm sure the children enjoyed it, hehe!
ps-hope you're okay :)
pps-this also reminds me of when i was in bootcamp and our TI made us pretend to be dead cockroaches on the floor with our legs and arms up in the air while on our backs...and then had our brother flight (we were all girls and then our partner flight was all boys) come and luck at us. All bc one of the girl trainees got us "killed"...I remember that like it was yesterday, lol! Sorry that was sooo long :/
Now why don't I live next door to you? That was funny. :) Don't you feel good that you gave the kids a good guffaw for the day. You MADE theirs. :)
WOW! I have had similar experiences...lol. Thanks for the laugh! lol
Very descriptive! And perfect for the season's title. Sorry about your fall. At least you have a sense of humor about it!
Too bad we didn't get to see it on video!
You know you made those kid's day right? Sounds like a fun to let it all loose in a pile of leaves though!
*gigglez* Yeah definitely a bow or curtsey was in order...
I hope you didn't get hurt but I'm sure the kids had fun telling that story all day.
And I bet you were laughing the whole time too, right?
Oh no! Hope you're OK.
