All The Right Moves

November 5, 2009

Yesterday I was raking leaves and filling the yard waste container with them. It got to the point where it was full. Nooooooo problem. My son lifted me right up into that container so's I could do some stompin'!

We live right next to a school and there are 3 classrooms which look out at my house. So, I got jiggy with it. I began to stomp rather clownishly. I turned in circles, I pumped my elbows, I jumped, smashed, and squished.

And then I jumped out.

Except my jump was more of a fall. The kind where you land and then scuttle backwards trying to maintain your balance but end up falling over onto your butt but the force takes you onto your back and you have your legs in the air like a dying bug and you look over and see kids pointing and laughing at you from the windows of all 3 classrooms.

It was that kind of fall.

When I first started to read I was so worried that this incident would lead to a ER visit. I'm so happy to hear that it ended in a comedic pratfall. So the moral is; if you can't be graceful, at least be funny.

Em said...

Just think how many dinner-table stories you starred in last night.

Girl you know how to spread some cheer!

(and how much do I love that your son can pick you up! Only a matter of minutes here too.)

sheila said...

Awesome! lol. Look at all the giggles you spread that day, how wonderful! (hope your butt is ok, lol)

Thanks for sharing that story, it's going to keep me from going to breakfast in a grumpy mood. You can't be grumpy when you're smiling. :)

Hope you're okay.

Oh I hope you don't end up with a sore behind in a couple of days. I did something similar once, the fall, not the reason for the fall, and I chipped a bone in my behind.
Not a good situation.

You've given a lot of people a good laugh!--First the school children (why weren't they paying attention in class, anyway?) and now all of us bloggers (who should be doing dishes and wrapping presents for tomorrow's birthday party and going to bed!).
I love the visual to go along with your story. Where do you find them? or do you create them?

Kristen Andrews said...

All bc one of the girl trainees got us "killed"...I remember that like it was yesterday, lol! Sorry that was sooo long :/
