A Father's Odyssey: 75 Marathons in 75 Consecutive Days - Giveaway

November 17, 2009

A Father's Odyssey by Terry Hitchcock

What would you do if your soulmate died, you lost your job, and you found yourself with your three young children depending on you alone?

One man defied these very circumstances, and managed to do much more than just survive in the years following his wife’s death.Terry Hitchcock, age 57 at the time, ran 75 consecutive marathons in 75 consecutive days. He traveled over 2,000 miles to bring awareness to the financial and emotional hardships faced by single parents and their children – everyday heroes who run quiet, yet extraordinary, daily marathons.

Terry Hitchcock proved that impossible is only a word. A Father's Odyssey: 75 Marathons in 75 Days will inspire you to remember that achieving what you are called to do is always possible. (from the publisher)

Buy It: A Father's Odyssey: 75 Marathons in 75 Days is currently available at Amazon for $12.21.

I learned that Terry was an only child who was raised by his grandparents. I would be interested to find out what happened to his parents, and if he felt that his grandparents did a good job of raising him.

I learned that Terry has a 3 part mission -

TERRY’S MISSION

The Three-fold Mission:
1. To provide organizations and individuals with the understanding that impossible is possible and that all expectations can be met
2. To create awareness about family needs and the issues and problems that children face each day (to create a Secretary of Children at the Federal Cabinet level)
3. To highlight and raise support for breast cancer and diabetes research

What an inspiration this guy is. Thanks for the giveaway!
