The latest and most embarrassing example of his folly was on a trip out to breakfast. I can't even remember if just one or both of the kids were there, because my husband's behavior overshadowed anything else that happened.
We were minding our own business and he just burst out laughing. Loudly. Nobody was even talking to him, yet he laughed as if we were. Loudly. Again and again and again.
He did it on purpose!

Now it wasn't the kind of laugh where people would question his sanity. Oh no, he's too good at his game for that. He sounded exactly like he had just heard a most hilarious bit of conversation.
So what do you do when you're married to a crackpot and stuck in a situation like this?
You get high on your husband's hilarity, and the whole family breaks out in riotous laughter.
It's either that...or cry.

That sound like me. I always break out into laughter and only I know what I am laughing about.
Maybe he did hear the most hilarious bit of conversation, in his head. HA! Just teasing.
I love that you have such a crazy husband who likes to make people laugh.
I could use some more of that these days!
LOL...You can't help but laugh from the story alone! My stepfather was like that. Oh how I miss his funny sense of humor. :)
That sounds exactly like something my husband would do just to freak out our 16 yr. old!
Laugh and the world will laugh with you. :)
how funny! :-)
It IS fun; living with whacko's. I just hang my head and feign embarrassment. Males are actually a good thing to have around.
He sounds like a lot of fun:-)
I love it! He does sound a lot like my hubby!! And laughter is contagious! ;)
He sounds like such a cool guy, must be fun to live with!
By the way, You've Been Tagged!
I hope you will stop by to see what it's about and join in. Would love to read what you come up with!
Deb
Oh, I love it when you just laugh for the sake of laughing! Maybe I'm a crackpot, too...
He sounds like a keeper to me! Who doesn't like good clean fun?
Must be fun being around him. :) Any excuse to laugh, I'd take it!
roflmbo that sounds like something my youngest child would do.. he gained it from his daddy lol.. My hubby is like that too and there are days it can really be irritating Thanks to him we are raising 3 smart alecs with a come back for ANYTHING
haha... your hubby sounds like a riot
I like your husband's style.
I wisecrack a lot, and get elbowed in the ribs a lot, too..
I'm also a loud spontaneous laugh-out-loud person. I embarrass my family all the time with my roaring cackle.
haha sounds like my husband. He loves embarrassing me out in public. Have a great day and week!
Laughter is contagious! And it's the funniest when there's no real reason to be laughing in the first place. HEE HEE!
I love it! The family that laughs together, stays together!
You husband sounds like a blast.
Your and mine have the same sick sense of humor!!
OMG I do that too. It annoys hubby especially when it;s just the two of us in the room. I can also cry on cue.
i think they are trying to commit me for doing similar things...typically i am the space alien chasing them through the aisles...i know, less subtle.
Love it! What a fun-loving family you all are.
That's how my brother's are. And evverything is more funny when they get started laughing.
I sometimes just break out into laughter.
Sometimes I'll remember funny things that have happened and I just can't help it. My husband is used to it now and he's usually all, "Okay, what now?"
This is too funny. I guess you join in...
BAhaha. That is the funniest thing I've heard in a while. In fact I am laughing and no one gets it. He must have a good memory and remembers something that cracked him up before. (My husband does that; although quietly).
You sound like the perfect match for him-laughing instead of hiding your head in embarrassment-I mean crying. :)
Better to have a laughing husband than a screaming one. You guys are a hoot!
I'm your husband. Really,I am. Sometimes I just start laughing and say "I crack myself up!" One day my husband will have me committed.
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha
Haha, crackpot, funny! Might as well join in, who cares. :)
I love people like that! Life is too short not to laugh!!!!
Hilarious! I love embarrassing my kids. I tell them it's in my job description! hehe
When I met my husband he made me laugh all the time. He warned me that oneday I wouldn't find his brand of humor funny.....that is still up for debate.
Something tells me I'd find your husband's brand of funny, funny!
My coworker and I did this interviewing a new employee once. It was NOT good.
yep.. i was totally about to say the same thing.. can't beat em' - join them!! lol
to funny - my hubs is so somber he never opens his mouth!
Sounds fun! I'm married to Mr. Serious so as a general rule he doesn't have those impromptu laughing sessions.
sounds wonderful to me! sounds like you guys are a really tight pack and i like that.
It's the voices. He's hearing the voices again, isn't he?
Laughter is contagious. So I would join right in and probably not be able to stop laughing!!
Ha! That sounds like something I would do to my mom... Maybe I'll do that next time we go out to lunch... LOL
My hubby is like that too. I do a lot of laughing.
LOL, that is great!
That's me.;)
He who laughs loudest AT me is my husband of course.
Uh, yeah I do things like that too.
I do that too sometimes. It's really a pain in the butt. I embarrass myself.
Your family sounds like so much fun to hang out with =).
Laughter is contagious so I think I'd be laughing along with him too =).
That's funny and great that you can just laugh along with him...even if he is trying to embarass you!
My hubby always embarasses me because he does not know how to whisper! No really, at all its just like talking and of course always about something you wouldn't want anyone else to hear!
It reminds me of on road trips when my Dad would strain to pass gas on the hard McDonald's benches, encouraging the entire restaurant to gape as he roared with laughter.
That's awesome. I have family members that do the same and you just never know what may happen.
Sounds like every day is an adventure for your family!!
sounds like a awesome time;)laughter is good for the soul
what a freak! gotta love him!
Wow - ok I love laughter... but maybe that would embarrass me....but then again, laughter is good for the soul.
Well, he could have done worse things I suppose
Your story makes me think of Mary Poppins...the "I love to laugh" scene/song. One of my childhood favorites :-)
I'm usually the one messing with everyone...when we're shopping, I love to call out to my husband and wave and say his name over and over as if I haven't seen him in ten years. then I laugh.
I'm afraid if my hubby tried that around me, he'd get a good swift kick under the table!
Laugher is good for marriage. He sounds like a fun person!
I think it's fantastic that your husband does this. So funny. They say laughter is the best medicine, and I agree. Thanks for stopping by.
What a wonderful "bad habit" to have!
Mine will say something rude just loud enough for people to hear him.
He has no patience waiting at resturants and lets it be known!
My husband also LOVES to embarrass me. One time in the grocery store I asked in a very soft voice if he could get some toilet paper, and he replied (VERY LOUDLY), "What's that honey? We need more ass wipe?" Lovely indeed. Not too worry though, I got him back, but it's a long story. Perhaps I will post about it someday.
Too stinkin funny!!! LOL
Your hubby sounds like a lot of fun!!
What a great family!!
LOL!!!! I would have started cracking up!!!!!
I have long believed that your family is a good time. This post just confirms that belief.
Or you could forcibly shove a pancake in his mouth to shut him up.
Justine :o )
Nice to hear some happy things around blog land!
I love it! I'd love to witness such a debacle...
Laughter is contagious. Beats him being a crazed yelling madman, hands down!
Very cute :)
He sounds like fun though...bet you are never bored=) Thanks for the welcome back--I have missed my blogger friends terribly=)
Always chose laughter.
OH man.. your life sounds so fun!! :)
How funny...you called your husband a crackpot! You crack me up! LOVE it!!!!
but i bet he got a whole lotta people smiling and laughing too!
I'm with your hubz...I'd much rather laugh at nothing than cry over something!
Happiness runs in your family, that is wonderful!
gosh... i used to be like that long time ago...
damn..i am getting old..
thank you for your support always.i appreciate it.
That sounds great! You all would fit right in with our family. :)
He and my hubby would get along great...they're just alike! ;-)
Your husband sounds like he's a lot of fun!
Hmmm... sometime you feel like a nut?
I would like to put our husbands in a room together to see exactly who is the loudest. LOL my hubs whispers at a volume 10 for normal people. :)
That is too funny.
He may be related to my mother. Scary to think about.
He may be related to my mother. Scary to think about.
Hey, they say laughter is the best medicine, right? Too funny! :)
I want to hang out with you guys!
And I thought he was the calm one out of the bunch...
Laughter really is contagious...too bad the rest of the restaurant didn't start laughing too.
LOL.... I know laughing is def contagious!! Too cute!
Thank you thank you thank you for always leaving comments on my blog, it is soo appreciated....
G
we all should laugh more!
LOL, that was hilarious! Laughter is good for the sanity!
The more you share about your family, the more I want to be your friend... LOL!
I think our hubs are related
How great! Laughter is such a good thing :)
That's awesome...I love when you're just helpless with laughter like that...it's the best feeling! Awesome that you have a husband who can bring it out in you all!
LOL, I'm surprised you're not immune to it by now! My husband just ignores me when I start acting crazy in public... :P
It sounds like the rule the smelled it dealt it rule. Better play along our it was all you ... LOL
Oh boy the all these boys are killing my brain :)
I gave you an award!
OMG that cracked ME up and I wasn't even there! That's so awesome!!!
That is SO funny! Sounds like something I would do!
You could always excuse his behavior by saying that he has a unique form of Tourette's that keeps him laughing. LOL
I'm sure you've wanted to duck under the table for sure!
ha! i love when people do that kind of stuff!! at least there's never a dull moment!!!
Without laughter, marriage would be awfully snoozeville!
That's awesome! You guys sound oh...just a 'bit' like us. lol. We enjoy embarrassing our kids now and then...especially when they request we don't a head of time. ;o)
OMG! Maybe our husbands are brothers that were seperated at birth. My hubby LOVES to do things to embarrass me in public. We were at a little shop over the weekend and there were food samples all over. He found two straws and put them in his mouth so he looked like a walrus. He just walked around like that till I saw him then he cracked up from the look on my face.
laughter sometimes is truly the best medicine. I bet your house is so much fun.
LOL! Now that's just funny!
I would have joined in too. Once I was on the city bus getting home from college and I remembered something hilarious that happened that day. I burst out laughing and everyone in the bus stared at me. That made me stop laughing quickly.
Oh my my hub laughs that same way!
Ƹ̵̡Óœ̵̨̄Æ·
My husband loves to send me into laughing fits in the most inappropriate locations - like church. He knows just the look to make and then does not let up provoking me. He seems to get a big kick out of this - men!
Laughing is good for you...so YAY for your hubby LOL
Oh my gosh, I think if I pulled something like that in public Albert would walk out hiding his face in his collar!
I love that you all joined in!
It is fun to have someone like that around ... I just don't want them in my family! : )
That is too funny! I would probably laugh along with him too! (Or at him)
You laugh with them so they don't kill you. :-)
your whole family sounds fun to be around.
What a character! And yes, your family does sound fun. Life is way too short! Laughing is healthy!
Not a dull moment in your family:) I am kind of loud when I laugh but my Husband winces, but my kids love it!!
Oh how I love it! Tis the way to live :)
Much rather that than a spouse who acts like a total jackass to you and his best friend in front of an entire PACKED restaurant, storms out and sits in the car glaring at you while you're trying to have a pleasant supper....
and no...Im not married to that one any longer...
My hubby does stuff like that, the kids used to get really embarassed by it and want to hide. As they got older, they used to participate in the insanity and now it is just a group of the 3 of them acting like goofs.
Definitely could have used one of these today. A boy in my nephew's class tripped him and he fell, hit his head on a desk and had to go get stitches. Kids can be so mean. I think I'm going to go pick one of these up for him. Would love to win for next time though! utgal2004[at]yahoo[dot]com
