A while back, my family was attending the baptism of my little nieces and nephews. We were visitors to that particular church and knew no one.
We were instantly escorted over to a table full of nametags. My sister and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes.
Nametags, are you serious?

Ever the polite females, we dutifully scribbled our names on the nametags, as did our mother. She carefully and proudly affixed her label to her chest. My sister and I just as carefully wadded and crammed ours into our purses.
We were not going to wear nametags in a group full of strangers announcing that we were the pathetic losers o’ day, and secondly, admitting it by the sheer fact we wore the nametags.
And by the way…is it really necessary to have the Hello My Name Is… on the nametag? I’m pretty sure that most people realize what you’ve written down on the nametag is your name.
