Book Review – Lakeshore Christmas

I was having a particularly blue day when I started reading Lakeshore Christmas by Susan Wiggs, and it was exactly what I needed. There’s something about a holiday story that lifts my spirits, and this was no exception.

The unassuming town librarian, Maureen Davenport, has just been told that the closure of her beloved library is imminent. Heartbroken, she pours her soul into the annual Christmas pageant and is determined to make it the most memorable pageant ever. However, her co-director, Eddie Haven, a former child star turned bad boy, has been court assigned to work with her, and he knows just how to get under her skin.

A romance begins to bud between the unlikely pair and as formulaic as that is, it still pleases the reader. Throw in the simplicity and charm of a small town and a very special angel, and it really does turn out to be a magical Christmas after all.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by MotherTalk on behalf of Lakeshore Christmas and received a copy of the book to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
