Lysol To My Rescue Giveaway!

November 4, 2009

kills germsGerms are ooky and blechy! I hate them and I'm on guard against them at all times, especially now with H1N1 spreading wildly through the population. When I'm out of the house, I can use hand sanitizer, but in my own home I rely on Lysol to help me out.

My number one helper is Lysol disinfecting spray. Have you ever had someone come over and they use your bathroom, and you hear the door open immediately following the flush? ALERT! ALERT!

I run to the bathroom behind them, open the cabinet to find my trusty Lysol spray and I soak spritz down the toilet handle, the doorknob, the light switch, and the faucet handles. Whew...crisis averted.
Lysol disinfectant
For normal everyday disinfecting and clean-up, I use Lysol disinfecting wipes. I have a canister in each of my bathrooms. I feel so much better using a cleaner that kills germs. It's not enough for me to have it clean, it has to be a germ-free clean.

With its 99.9% germ kill rate, Lysol is the next best thing to family. Srsly.

*******

Win It: Lysol is offering two of my readers the chance to win a 12.5 oz Lysol Disinfectant Spray and two 40 ct. canisters of Lysol Disinfecting Wipes.

"Unlike bacteria, viruses lack the ability to grow or replicate on their own. Virologists have said that viruses are not "alive". They require a living host, (like a person), or a cell to support their replication." Boy, we've had our share of viruses this fall!

I learned....The word "germ" comes from the Latin word for seed. Most "germs" are actually helpful, with only a relative handful capable of producing disease. Disease causing germs (pathogens) include some spores, prions, bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Agents that can kill or slow down the growth of some of these harmful germs include sunlight, (UVrays), cold, heat, (steam under pressure and dry heat), and chemical agents. When speaking about chemical agents, there are four categories of germicides that cover a wide range of product chemistry and areas of use. They are sterilants, disinfectants, sanitizers and antiseptics.
