I have a very goofy and silly side. (I think you all know that by now.) So you'd think I'd be just as goofy and silly about the toys I pick out. But, I am very picky.
I like toys that have lasting value, that can be played with in all kinds of ways, and that encourage free use of a child's imagination. If it provides educational value, even better.
Here are the kinds of things that I bought and would still buy for my own kids. I found them all at eToys, by the way.
I love this Shape Up puzzle which combines fun with colors, shapes, counting, and matching. I had something very similar to this for my kids.

This handled shopping basket with groceries and this shopping cart were played with almost every single day. The shopping cart was used for things like races, scavenger hunts, a doll stroller, pick-up games, and of course grocery shopping.

My kids loved to work on board puzzles like this Melissa & Doug alphabet puzzle. I remember they'd put all the ABC's in place and then immediately dump it upside down and start over.

There's a reason that medical kits have been around for as long as we can remember. Kids love them! When my daughter played with her kit, she stored her pretend medicine in a plaque on the side of the fridge, and she was constantly refilling the syringe so she could give us more shots.

My kids had this Little Tikes double easel and I think it was probably one of the best investments we ever made in a toy. They played with it all the time for years and years.

I shared some of my favorite toys because I am one of the twelve featured bloggers participating in the Toy Tuesday campaign, sponsored by Bill Me Later (which if you didn't already know, is a time saving, easy, safer way to checkout when shopping online.)
On December 8, Bill Me Later is hosting "Toy Tuesday". Visit www.toytuesday.com to find great deals on the holiday's most wanted toys and gifts from leading retailers such as Toys "R" Us, Walmart.com, Little Tikes, Step 2, eToys, drugstore.com, FAO Schwarz, HP, Overstock.com, MacMall, Mercantila and more.
Each of the twelve days leading up to the official date of Toy Tuesday, December 8th, you'll have the chance to meet another one of the featured bloggers along with the chance to win a $250 gift card for yourself and a $500 gift card for a local charity! (Gift cards are from Toy Tuesday retailers)
*************
Today, November 29th, is the featured giveaway day right here at A Nut in a Nutshell!
All you have to do to enter is answer this question:
Tell me about a toy you have purchased for your child that has really stood the test of time. If you don't have children, think back to a toy you remember most fondly.
RULES: Open to US residents. One entry per person and there will be (1) one winner! This is a ONE DAY GIVEAWAY, expiring tonight, 11/29/09 at 11:59 pm EST. The winner will be chosen by Bill Me Later and will be announced HERE tomorrow 11/30/09 at 1 pm, EST. See official rules for details.
*** Remember, there is a new giveaway each day! So be sure to visit the featured blogger every day. Tomorrow's giveaway is hosted by Lille Punkin Reviews!
I wrote this post while participating in the Toy Tuesday campaign by Bill Me Later. I received a gift certificate to thank me for my participation. In addition, Bill Me Later is providing the giveaway prizes.

My favorite toy from my childhood that my children now play with is my Fisher-Price Circus. It is a classic toy, and I spent hours playing with, making different circus scenarios and setups as my kids do.
the best toy i ever got my kids was an art easel kinda of like the one you showed here, but made of wood. i got it when zoe was little and it was not really passed on to trinity, more shared, because actually they both use it quite a bit.
B.V. my favourite toy is Teddy bear ,never fell apart and i had it since i was 5 year old.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
lots of love and
hugs hugs
With three boys, Legos, has been the best toy I ever bought. It has kept them busy for hours day after day. I would love to take them to Lego City someday.
My favorite toy from when I was a child is my stuffed teddy bear. To this day, it still winds up and plays it a small world. It is in my son's nursery waiting on his arrival in January!
laprochaine@gmail.com
I am from Oz so sadly can't participate in the contest but I still wanted to tell you that the toy that just keeps amusing my kids is Lego. They can't get enough of it!
Best of luck to everyone else, Natasha.
A toy which I purchased which stood the test of time would be Spongebob Walkie-Talkies! I swear my kids have had so much fun with them over the years! Also other Spongebob toys are excellent too, my kids just can't seem to get enough :D
justine417@comcast.net
The toy I had that stood the test of time was a Raggedy Ann doll. Not only did I have her my whole childhood, but my daughter did too. I still have it an hope to pass it on to my granddaughter one day.
At our house megabloks (the larger ones) have definately stood the test of time.. My 3 & 1/2 year old has had them since he was 6 months old and still enjoys playing with them and my 10 month old loves playing with (and eating) them also! I'm sure they will still be used for many years by my boys!
I would say a Tonka truck that I bought for my first daughter. It was old and I bought it at a Flea Market. It is a pink jeep that says Tonka on the side of it. I bought it 10 years ago and it has now been through my other 2 children also. My son doesn't even care about the color of course he may when he gets older..lol

I have a Fisher Price phone which stayed in great condition like forever.
As adults and parents, we started passing it around the neighborhood with each new family addition.
Lincoln logs were my favorite, still have them in the original can and the grandkids love them
Oh, the Little Tykes Kitchen, hands-down! I've still got it down in the basement, waiting for a try-out by future grandkids (not that I'm old enough for grandkids, but still...). Thanks for the chance to win big...and Happy Sunday!
Look, Ma, No Hands!
I remember having a little stuffed bunny named vanilla. I loved it so much, but then one of my friends loved it, too and I gave it to her. I missed it, but liked that she was happy intime@myself.com
My daughter is two and a half and the only toy that she consistently plays with would be her Legos. That is the one she goes back to once the excitement of any new toys wears off.
In our house the one toy that has stood the test of all the crazyness that can happen in our house is my husbands first teddy bear. This big fuzzy Koala just keeps on surviving and will keep on going too!
I can't find the link to the favorite toy in our house, but it has withstood loads of abuse. It is a Fisher Price ride on toy, that can also be used as a walk behind. It has a basket on the front to drop balls into and it also makes music. We have had it for about 7 years, and all three of my kids still play with it. *I* can't wait to get rid of it, but I am sure my kids will miss it.
I love giveaways!
My favorite toy growing up was this stuffed black cat that purred when you pet it. I had it for a loooong time and always loved it :)

great giveaway idea.... love it!!
i was trying to think of a toy that is still in my house, my 9 year old still has his medical kit and has had it since he was 4 or 5.. he doesn't take it out as much anymore but it is still all there for when he does!!
My daughter is almost 7 and still loves her mega blocks table. She will build for hours!
I'd have to say the Radio Flyer tricycle that we bought for #1. After being left outside countless days to experience rain and even snow, after being ridden recklessly by two boys way past the age and weight limit (#1 still jumps on it & he's 8) it's still giving #3 the time of his life at the moment. I'll be sad when he grows out of it & I have to drag it to Goodwill & kiss it goodbye:(. Hope I win!
I would have to say that legos have with stood the test of time in my house.Boys and Girls.bill110@optonline.net
I love the Leap Frog toys, we still have my oldest's (10 yr. old now) Leap Frog toys and they still last now for my 1 yr. old. Great toys, just change the batteries and like new.
brownatural @ gmail dot com
Twister stands the test of time - it wears them out.
Board games have always stood the test of time here, their tattered boxes line the shelves and are frequently dragged out.
I guess the toy with the most longevity has been Lincoln Logs though, any toy that allows kids creativity is sure to be a winner.
My favorite toy was a Steif teddy bear that I received in 1968. I still have the bear today and it sits on my bed. It has definitely stood the test of time.
one of my favorite toys was my barbie doll house. I played for hours with that house. In fact I still have it!
I pick toys for the grandkids that I can play with too lol I'm just a big kid :)
Being the youngest of four my toys consisted of hand-me-downs. Which of course I like today, but didn't always appreciate as a child. The Barbie dolls hair was already tangled, the Barbie car had been keyed by a jealous Ex. (Hee Hee) and Ken was missing an arm....
I remember getting my very own Cabbage Patch dolls on Christmas day. Two, so cool right! I have them stored away for my kids to play with some day....hand-me-downs. I'll start the tradition early.
My dottie's JOJO doll that had her hair cut off by me a year after she arrived because I thought dottie was getting allergies from Jojo (NOT!) and Jojo has always found her way home after being left twice in church and several places. She has shopped and travelled with dottie but remained happy and intact!!

One toy of my son's that has really stood the test of time is my son's GeoTrax. I bought his first set when he was 2 years old. He is soon to be 8 and still has the entire set and all the pieces we have collected over the years. And he still loves to play with it. He has taken apart the track and put it back together in many different ways so many times. Sometimes I'll be down here in my living room and it sounds like demolition upstairs. lol. This Fisher-Price toy is great quality and loads of fun. : )
melissap21702(at)aol(dot)com
Some toys never get old!! My girls played with the Dr. kit FOREVER. I should locate it as they are both teens now...and they may try to play with it again...WITH BOYS!!! :)
i bought legos for my boy after 2 years, hes only 7, hes still playin with the same container of them. maybe i should get him more?
How fun! I have to say the best/favorite toy that stood the test of time was my Fisher Price house, castle and little wooden Fisher Price people - even when us kids were technically 'too old' to play with them, we'd still take them outside on a nice day and use chalk to draw a whole series of roads and set up the toys as a town. We had hours of fun!
Now Princess Nagger is the proud owner of my original Fisher Price castle and some of the original people - she has a lot of fun with it, and 'lets' me play with her, too. ;)
The best toy I ever bought was a doll from Teletubbies. It was only $30 and lasted nearly 10 years through two kids. Kinda bummed we gave it away. I have a toddler now who'd love it.
I had American Girl dolls and loved them. I'll pass them on to my daughter once she's ready
The best toy ever was books! I still have all of mine. They withstood my kids and are waiting patiently for grandkids to arrive!
mj.coward[at]gmail.com
My favorite toy from childhood was a red haired doll. It had a ceramic face, arms and legs and the rest of its body was cloth, stuffed with cotton. I cherished and played with that doll for years, even when it's face was scratched and it's hair was matted. I loved that doll.
nanoarta1@gmail.com
A toy that all three of my kids adore and still play with at 11, 8 and 3 are those big cardboard blocks! Not sure the exact name of them but they all love them! Great giveaway BlueViolet! Thanks!
My son who is an adult had a favorite stuffed Pound Puppy and I still have it.
janetfaye (at) gmail (dot) com
Something that has gone through each of our 4 children and they ALL still play with today are the jumbo legos. They could build towers ALL day long. They also love to build things with their wooden blocks.
My kids still like their Step2 kitchen after almost 5 years!
mami2jcn at gmail dot com
The best toy I have ever bought is "baby" ... an Asian doll from Corolle (who happens to look EXACTLY like my daughter!). She loves her more than any other toy, treats her like a sister, and is right now, as I am typing, feeding "baby" some Kix cereal. She is so important to my daughter, in fact, that she has become like one of the family. She even receives Christmas presents!
My son's Nintendo DS is a toy that has lasted a long time despite the scratches and having been dropped and knocked into things etc. I don't know what he would do if it stopped working. lol
donnyandshelly at yahoo dot com
I would have to say Legos. I have two boys and they both still play with Legos that were bought 10 years ago. They keep the directions in a binder in clear divider sheets.
Cece
my son has this turtle thing that you ride on, it does 360 degree turns and is nearly impossible to flip over. He flies through the house on that thing and has a blast! It's pretty dang durable, when he crashed into our trashcan he broke the foot (that opens the lid) off of our trash can and didn't get a scratch on the turtle, nor did it turn over. This kid is rough and that turtle is perfect for him!
One toy that I think has really stood that test of time is Mr Potato head! These have been around forever and are still a great one. They last forever too...My kids set has lasted about 7 years and looks brand new.
colleen_mouse@yahoo.com
Isabella has a play kitchen from Fisher-Price and it still looks brand new! It's been through so much and it's still as perfect as ever. Love that kitchen!
Awesome giveaway!
leoandchelle at yahoo dot com
Gosh. I have 5 kids and there are so many toys over the years...I think Kinex & legos last very well. We also have some nice dollhouse stuff, from Melissa & Doug that is holding up well:) quinnschilling@gmail.com
I think legos is the only toy that my daughter has not destroyed. I don't think she found a way yet...haha
hippopurplemonkey at yahoo dot com
My favorite toy was paper dolls. I had lots of them.
I know others have mentioned this, but, Legos are really the one toy that my all of my kids consistently play with. They are always thrilled to receive Legos and will spend hours building and creating with them.
Thanks!
Happy Holidays!
I bought my friend's son some Lincoln logs a few years ago. At first he was like what the heck is this because he had never seen them. He ended up loving them and although he is grown he said he still has them. I bought them because I used to play with them years ago.
Sherry Winckel-My son who is 7 has a stuffed cat that he calls bear-bear. He loves that cat. He is always so worried that it will fall apart when I wash it.
Ruth Privitt
I have a stuffed dog that I have had since I was a little girl. I am in my 50's now. It is tattered and torn, but I love it. My grandkids love it too, so he has to stay locked away when they are over.
I would have to say Lego's they keep kids creating new things all day and they are very tough!!!!
The best toy for my son was any LEGO ever made. We still have them and he's 18! My daughter loved dress-up clothes, so we would pick up halloween costumes on November 1st for a song, or go thrift shopping.
We bought my oldest son a huge Tonka dump Truck. It was huge and big enough for him to sit in the dump part and ride in. It has lasted through him, both his brothers and is still used by my great nieces and nephews every time they come. It has been in the house, in the yard, survived falls, bumps, bangs and weather. It allows them to play with all kinds of materials to "build" be leaders on a construction site, make messes and all kinds of big dreams.. I would absolutely purchase anything made by the Tonka company at any time..
I have children ages 3, 2 and 1 with baby#4 due in January, and one toy that has stood the test of time is our set o Mommy and Me wooden blocks. they can really take all of the abuse 3 preschoolers can dish out and will still be here for #4! Such a simple toy, but all my kids have great fun buildoing with them and loading them up in their wagon..and best of all.. no batteries required!! Sometimes the simplest things in life really are the best!!!
I would have to say that the toys that have stood the test of time not only with my own children but with me too are the little Kitchen Sets. I remember playing "house" with my stove and sink, and now watch my children do the same thing with theirs!
My favorite toy as a child was the kitchen accessories playset. I used to make the best mud pies east of the Mississippi. Considering I had such practice as a kid, you'd think I would be a master chef.
I am not. haha
My nieces love to play with that same exact set these days!!
Thanks!!!

My little boy has a set of wheel pals from playskool that he has played with over and over again and they still look like new.
When my son was very little, I bought him a Leap Frog Learning Table. I took off the legs so that he wouldn't pull it over, and we've been using it on the floor ever since. The music is not annoying and my kids (now 5 and 3) refuse to let me give it away. Mostly it stays under the bed, but when it comes out, they still like it!
my favorite toy was a barbie dream house I played with that so much I still have it and I'm 51.
I had a whole kitchen set as a child, complete with dishes, pots and pans, and play food. I loved it and played with it for years.
my favorite was my dollhouse
a metal tonka dump truck has really held to gether over the years.. i'm talking 24+ years and it has been well used but it is still in great condition
It was a stuffed bunny shaped like a man, for my daughter when she was about 5 years old. When I asked her what the name of the bunny was going to be, she indignantly answered "Mr Bunny", as if to suggest that it was obvious. At 32 years old, she still has Mr. Bunny.
The toy that to me stands the test of time is Legos. We have two huge bins just filled with Legos that we've collected over the years. I'm an adult & I still love playing with them. Thanks!
I bought my son a wooden toy train set. It's so durable-- which is exactly what I need with my darling 2 year old who likes to slam his toys around and throw them. :) I also had a wooden train from when I was a baby that I still have in storage!
When I was little, my sister and I played with Fisher Price Little People. These are the originals - the small ones, not the enormous choke-proof Little People that Fisher Price makes today. We have the house, the school, vehicles, a carport. My mom kept all those Little People toys from our childhood and my little nephews play with those same toys today. Now that's quality. Thank you for the chance to win.
The radio flyer red wagon that was mine, then my sisters, then brother and then sister.
My baby loves his Cow stuffed animal. It always makes him smile when he sees it, and he loves to 'talk' to it.
The play kitchen we got for our twins years ago my baby still plays with it every day!
Building blocks or connects. My daughter always plays with these and will spend a lot of time doing so.
My favorite was a giant stuffed dog I slept with every night! I still have him to this day :)
Our K'Nex seem to be holding up quite nicely. They can build pretty much anything with them, and they withstand a lot of playing. However, some pieces are lost here and there haha.
Well it's not that great because It's only been 2 years. But the Fisher Price Sing Along Stage! Still a favorite. Got it at 7 months and now at 2 1/2 Still Loves it!!
hmahan_0529 @yahoo dot com

I remember my tomy fashion plates! I loved those and they lasted forever until my mom sold it in a garage sale! It just may have paved my way into the fashion business today! :) stylistdiva@gmail.com
I don't have kids, but I know that our Lincoln Logs surely survived the test of time and 3 kids! My dad still has them in his attic, so I know they're alive and well!
Right now in our house we have the little people. We have the plane, farm house, car, and bus. My little one just takes those people every place she can. I love hearing her talk away about what they are doing. She loves this. This gives her a chance to play and learn.
Thanks for having this giveaway..
It has to be my son's V-tech laptop. It has been through a lot and never failed. He's dropped it in water, mud, and in the garbage..but it still works. Thanks
charisscharity at yahoo dot com
I adored my cabbage patch doll. It was all the rage when I was young. Even though it might not be now, I still got one for niece & granddaughter this year. :)
When I was little we had several of the Fisher Price sets, The Farm, House, School House, Ferris Wheel and Sesame Street. I am now 40, but my children and my nieces are still playing with the same sets today. They have certainly stood the test of time.
wmmahaney(at)att(dot)net
I bought this set of Lego Over sized Building blocks back when my nephews were babies (so they would have something to play with when they came over to my house) and they are still looking great and my son plays with them now. Thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway!!
For me, the toy that has best withstood the test of time would have to be Lego's -- these simple building blocks invite an almost infinite number of possibilities for creative play, and they really engage the imagination with all of the objects and worlds you can fashion with them!
gkaufmanss@yahoo.com
We had a set of blocks when we were kids. Just plain, wooden blocks. There were technically my brothers' but all 4 of us would play with those blocks and have the time of our lives.
One of my brothers STILL has those blocks and lets just say he's my baby brother and I am 50. I would say they have stood the test of time
Thanks

My girls never got tired of building things with their Legos. They graduated from the large ones to the smaller ones. Unfortunately, the pieces were easily swallowed up in the vacuum cleaner. But, they were true entertainment for them.
My girls favorite toy has been the magnadoodle. (They are only 1 & 2) They love scribling and trying to make shapes like mommy does. They even make the silly sounds that I make when I draw shapes for them. It is so darn cute!
The best thing I've gotten my daughter is Legos. Plain, no directions, Legos, a big old box of 'em. She and her friend are building people in the other room right now!
I might even get her some more for Christmas!
The ever popular Cabbage Patch Kid - I still have mine from over 20 yrs ago :)
Thanks for the chance to not only win but to give as well :)

Wow this is a great giveaway!! My little guy is only 18 months so the test of time for him has not been long. But he loves his Leap Frog table and it takes his abuse, he hits it with his hands and other toys. I am sure he will begin standing on it soon as he is standing on everything else lately.

I purchased a Brio train set for my son when he was 3 years old. He loved that train set. When little kids come to our house, they always play with the train set. Nothing on the set has ever broken. It is a great quality toy that definitely stands the test of time.
Thanks so much for the chance to win!

Years ago I bought Fisher Price toys, a dollhouse, an air port with plane, a farm with barn and animals, they all stood up well.
The toy that's stood the test of time here started off as my husband's toy when he was a toddler. It was a blue plastic wind up box that resembled a TV. When you wound it up, nursery rhymes would scroll past the "tv screen". My mother in law gave it to my son when he was 2 and we still have it 7 years later.
Very cool!
I would say it would be a doll. A baby doll I had when I was little. My mom bought it for me when she brought my sister home from the hospital (when she was born).
My mom turned around and gave the doll to my daughter right around the time I brought my second daughter home from the hospital.

The Smart Cycle for sure- a great learning toy!!!
Most of the toys in my mom's playroom were mine growing up, but the most favored one would have to be my toy kitchen -- that thing has been through a lot and is still cooking!

Slinky for sure a slinky!

They have some stians (cause she wanted them to eat and drink what she did), but they are still in really good condition. Other toys I don't know. My babies are in their 30's. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway. I could get something nice for my grandson for sure.

I've had my bear emma since I was born and she's still in great shape lol!
Mega blocks are played with more than anything here. My one year old and 3 year old both never get bored with them!
One toy that I loved to play with was the Fisher Price farmhouse-I actually had the house, farmhouse and schoolhouse at one time and used them to make a mini village around the room. Once I got too old to play with them, mom set them aside and when I became a mother, I took them out of hiding and let my now 17 yr old son and 8 yr old daughter create their own adventures. My son now has a baby of his own, our Fisher Price toys-filled with lots of happy memories-will be passed down to him.

My Favortie toy I've purchased for my children is the Leap Frog Fridge Phonics. It's a fun way to keep them busy while I am making dinner - playing close by while they are learning. And, it still works like new 5 years and 2 girls later. Thank you for the incredible giveaway!

We got our daughter a Fisher Price farm with the animals and people when she was younger, much younger since she is now 21! She used it and then we passed it on to my other 2 children. Now I have it out for my daycare kids to use, and have since added the newer looking animals and people but still have the originals with it.
Thanks for the chance!!
Classic toys like Legos and Lincoln Logs lasted much longer than fad toys. One toy that both kids loved was their Fischer-Price tape player and assorted music cassettes.
The stackable rings were the go-to when both of my kids were very little.
amanda.townsend2 at gmail dot com
I love the ABC puzzle.
I bought a Leapfrog Music Table when my son was 5 months old (he is 3.5 now) used at a yard sale. It has been punished by him, my daughter, and my daycare kids and it still works like it is brand new! I love that it has held up so well!
My kids and their pals literally wore the wheels of a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. Luckily, replacement parts are available online!!! No wonder I see this year they have come out with the 30th anniversary CC. GREAT toy!
My daughter loves her megabloks and legos - I love that she is busy for a long time!
divya.kanakaraj@gmail.com
My son LOVED Geo Trax! He'd spend hours and hours reconfiguring tracks. He started collecting them and they've stood the test of time. One of the best presents we ever purchased.
Secondly is LEGO! Can't ever get enough of them!!
Beautifully crafted, open ended wooden blocks. Purchased for my first daughther (23 years ago!) and then passed down through her 5 siblings!
Parker is King of the blocks now and he LOVES them!
These blocks have been everything from Barbie dream houses to skyscrapers.

I bought my oldest son a firetruck by Tonka hwn he was about five years old. He is 28 years old now. It's amazing that the ladders are still attached and extend beautifully, considering I had two boys who used this inside and outside!
My daughter loves her princess dress up clothes. Has played with them every day since last Christmas.

Legos stood the test of time through my childhood and have carried over in my children's play experience. They are so creative!

I loved playing with Fisher Price Little People when I was lil... and Steffie loves them too... they are so great to inspire imagination and they stand the test of time.

Definitely LEgos. I played with them as a child, and those same Legos, along with tons of new additions, are still played with by every kid in my family.

one toy for us is the cabbage patch dolls we have had them since my first daughter was born :)
I think the Little People sets were one of my best toy investments. My daughter would play for house with them. And when she was almost too old for them, her brother came along and eventually played with them, too.
It was amazing to watch them play with those sets. They would set everything up a certain way and come up with crazy stories and scenarios. You could just see the gears turning in their little heads.
The one toy that has stood the test of time has been a Fisher Price Doll House I bought my oldest daughter when she was 5. She is now 27 and plays with the same doll house with her baby sister, who is 8. I hope it will stay and last through the grand children, if I ever get any.. LOL

legos are the best toys, because they can be whatever you want them to be
A box of wooden blocks. We use them almost every day in one way or another and they are a hit! It's the non-fancy, plain wooden block type. The fancy ones that I liked (colorful, jiggle, etc.) are not considered a favorite among my children!
My favorite toy was my Little Tykes kitchen and play food. I loved to "open my restaurant and serve" my family and friends. Ironic, because as an adult, I hate cooking!
My daughter's favorite toys are some wooden puzzles that were passed down from a friend of ours. She will do them over and over again.
There are so many... My niece now enjoys playing with her mom's Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal. She gives it rides in the Radio Flyer wagon that had belong to all 6 of us kids.
The Fisher Price Giraffee, Hot Wheels, Legos, I could go on and on..
Thanks for the chance

A telescope. Fun, educational, family bonding or quiet time reflective star gazing - it's all good!
We have the shopping cart and we love it!

It was actually a toy my sister-law-in got my daughter; a cute plush sled dog named Musher.
For me it was a teddy bear my dad got me the day I was born, I still have and love him :)

My favorite toy growing up wa always the Tupperware Shape ball. You know the red and blue one with the yellow shapes you put in. NIOw I see my nieces and nephews playing with it.
At our house it has been a solid wood train set and play doh! These provide hours of fun!!
I think that the best toy that my son has so far is his stuffed dog. He LOVES that thing and it has put up with a lot from him. Gramma gave it to him when he was born.

So far, my daughter's yarn blocks probably get the most daily abuse, and still look awesome!
I kind of want that Tiny Tikes little easel... ;-)
My favorite toy from childhood was my stuffed Huckleberry hound with the plastic face
i gave my son a drum set when he was 5. He is 10 now and he still uses the drum sticks.
My favorite toy thats still around strong is the Fisher Price Farm sets. They look alittle different now then the one I had as a kid,but they're still loved and have held up over many years
My son has had hit little red wagon for so long! He weighs 50lbs and it still pulls him, its strong and im sure we'll have it for many more years.
I got Alison a Radio Flyer Wagon when she was 5. She is now 15 and she still uses it. She takes it to the flea market when we go or to the zoo. Any family outing we bring that wagon. It has held up and still looks good.
Fisher Price Little People!!! We have multiple sets (the barn, house, school). My kids absolutely adore these! Out of all the toys they have (and they have many!) these are the toys that they play with EVERYday.
One of Monsoon's favorite things to play with has been MegaBlocks. They're like legos, but bigger, and great for smaller kids. He's had them for nearly 3 years and still loves to stack them up tall, knock them down, pretend they can talk, etc...
My favorite toys were a few Madame Alexander Dolls-they were so beautiful that I had to take special care of them. Still have them to this day. My children's toys that have stood the test of time are TY beanie babies & Football trading cards (they count as toys-in a house full of boys)
In our house Lincoln Logs were the sturdiest things we ever played with! I have no idea what type of wood they were made from byt hey were amazingly strong!
The best toy I've bought for my children has to be the lincon logs we got several years ago. All 3 of my boys love to build and play with them still to this day! Myself included!! :)

One toy that has lasted is the game of Scrabble. We played it when we were young and still play it. It works for all ages and is fun. Thanks for the contest.
A step 2 play kitchen.
My son has one of the original Alpha Bugs. This was before they were censored and you could still make it say cuss words (it is now 7 years old). Thank you

I purchased a large set of wooden blocks for my daughter when she turned 1. They have really stood the test of time because she still plays with them, just in more imaginative ways! Her current favorite way to use them is as an animal corral!

Lincoln Logs and Legos. We still have them and they definitely stand the test of time.
A toy that as stood the test of time in our house is the sit-n-spin. I bought it 3 yrs ago for my now 5 yr old son. Now, the 5yr old and 20 month old play on it and it works great.

The Mega Blocks that my son has, are his favorite and they withstand ANY of his crazy "all-boy" antics! :-)
We could definitely use a gift card like this, this Christmas and I'm so glad that Bill Me Later is giving money to charity, too!
Blessings!
The toy I remember most fondly is the doll named Giggles. She giggled when you lifted her arm. Thanks for the giveaway!
My Legos! I have had them since I was 4, which in March will make them 20 years old. I love them. They inspire creativeness and you can really use your imagination. I hated sharing them with my sister! :) I also like some of the newer Lego stuff that is out, but I don't own any of it. I really just like my classic Legos! Thanks for the chance! bekki1820cb@gmail.com
The little mickey mouse car I bought my little boy when he was one is still used on a daily basis. He used to ride for fun and now it is the car he drives to go grocery shopping at whole foods or trader joes.
