What the Blog is Up with this Blog?

You’re kind of crazy with your commenting. What gives?

Um, yeah. I know, it’s kind of an obsession with me, but my kids are grown up so I have time. I love, love, love reading blogs and commenting. I’ve tried to kill the monster, but it just won’t die.

But you have a lot of followers, so how do you keep up with the commenting?

Are you serious, because if you’re seriously asking me, I’m going to have to tell you.

I don’t.

It’s simply not possibly to keep up with that many blogs. I’ve tried and it’s impossible.

Here’s what I’ve done to make this work for me:

I have a folder of Must Read blogs in my google reader. Once I find that I’m visiting a blog frequently, it goes in that folder.

My friends are in there automatically, and I’m always looking for new and fun blogs to read. I absolutely love, love, love reading and commenting.

I also always make sure to take the time to visit people who comment on my blog. It may take a few visits from you for your name to register in my brain, but then I start visiting back because I recognize you and your loyalty. Once you’re in my Must Reads, consider yourself stalked. I’ll comment the crap out of you.

I try to visit my Must Reads every day, and I try to comment on almost every post. Sometimes I can, most times I have to play a little catch up. I do the best I can. I do recognize the people who comment on every single one of my posts, and I make sure I’m commenting them just as lovingly.

Now, I’m not about tit for tat, but I am also not going to be the only one calling…you know? So, if I comment and comment and I never get return visits, I will stop commenting. Nobody wants a one-sided friendship.

If I follow you, why aren’t you following me?

I’m trying but sometimes I fall behind, and a lot of you don’t have your blogs connected to your square face follower image. I have no idea what blog you’re from. Help a girl out and hook it up, would ya? If I’m not following you and I should be, just let me know. I’ll fix it. I never unfollow people either. It hurts feelings and I won’t do it.

Do you respond to every comment you receive?

Would that I could, but no. I read each and every comment I receive, but I normally don’t reply to them. I don’t have time. Occasionally I will, but I generally choose to visit the blog of the commenter and return the love that way. It’s what I like, so it’s what I do.

Oh by the way, I also have a tendency to lose my comment emails. People ask me questions and I take those emails and store them in a folder to be answered. The problem is that I can never find them later. I’m such a fool and I apologize. If you really want an answer, send me an email through my contact button. Those never get lost.

I hate your giveaways. Why do you do them?

Aw crap! I wish you didn’t hate them, but I understand. I always put my personal post for the day above the giveaway to make it easier for you to find. At some point I’m going to make a tab or some way to make it even easier.

But here’s the reason I do them:

I love giveaways. As you know, we took a big financial hit, so it has given me an easy way to try things out for free before I invest my own money on them. I buy so many things now because of a review or giveaway, and I like sharing what I think about them with you. Plus, I just plain get a kick out of it!

I’m always going to do giveaways, and bear with me through the holidays since they’re going to be coming fast and furious. After the holidays, there won’t be nearly as many. If you hate them, skip right on over, but I hope you find something along the way you’d like to try to win.

How come you never post your awards?

I suck.

Is that enough for today? I think I’ve answered the most commonly asked questions.

I love you guys!

ok. a careful re-read with out children present and needing. it was me lacking clarity and reading comprehension skills. totally inefficient to have to reread posts after accusing quintessential blogger of making a mistake. now, that should be against the rules.
