HomeFree Cookies {Review and Giveaway}

As I think about baking Christmas cookies, I can’t help but wonder about people who have food allergies. What kind of cookies will they have? Or can they even have them?

Jill Robbins, a mom whose own son has severe food allergies, founded HomeFree, with its line of allergen-free baked goods. The idea was to create sweet treats that everyone, with or without food allergies, would enjoy.

Made in a dedicated bakery with organic ingredients, HomeFree treats are peanut free, tree nut free, egg free, and dairy free.

I had the chance recently to taste three types of cookies from the cookie line. I don’t have food allergies myself, so I was curious if they would really be as good as a regular cookie.

First up, the Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookie. Double chocolate cookies are one of my favorite kinds of cookies to eat, and the flavor on these soft and chewy cookies was just ok to me. However, I might be a little jaded, because my own double chocolate chip cookie recipe can’t be beat. Moving on…

The Soft Oatmeal cookies were moist and chewy, and had a very nice flavor. They contain 13 grams of whole grain per cookie, and I felt satisfied with eating just one. I really liked how soft and cake-like they were.

The Mini Chocolate Chip cookies were my favorite! The bite-sized, crunchy little cookies were every bit as good as any other mini chocolate chip cookie I’ve had. It was very hard not to keep popping them in my mouth one after another. They were just so tasty!
