One Sock Off and One Sock....huh?

December 2, 2009

I was both amused and appalled to see this on my son's leg yesterday.

Note: The top portion sports blood spatters from a misstep whilst accepting a pizza delivery.

Foolish child. Foolish man child actually... did you get a load of that hair? Yowza.

Man child. That's what I call mine, because even though he is only 8 his legs (and back actually) look like he's in the throws of puberty. I'm frightened to see if he's gonna grow into one of those back-waxing-required kind of dudes. And, I hope he doesn't take up swimming as a sport b/c I really don't want to invest the time needed to shave the kid to make him sleek enough for success. I'm not that committed!

Love it! Makes me feel a whole lot better about some of the things my children used to wear -- or, if not better, at least not alone.

how does it make you feel to see a man-leg on your son? impossible for me to imagine since mine(boys) are still so small and i will bee close to 100 by the time they grow hair on their legs.

i am too stunned to comment on the state of the "sock"

Almost reminds me of a pair of jeans a friend use to repair and repair... I don't mean a knee patch here and there.. nooooo full on fabric patches to cover the crotch, butt, and everywhere else.. At one point there was less jean that patches... what is it with men?

Jennifer Leigh said...

Please tell me he trashed it!

Cassie said...

Now if your man child put that sock on after it got in that condition, that is pretty impressive. If all that occured over the course of his day, well I can only say that his day must have been rougher than mine.

Cracking up at your hair comment. Yowza is right. :)

lfhpueblo said...

Definitely a man child. They have this so exagerrated broad view of life that they don't see the things moms do with their tunnel vision.
Yet, looks like something actually did tunnel away at the sock, started on the flesh of his lower leg and ankle at the time of the pizza delivery (ouch), and then decided to halt when hitting the wall of hair.
This is a mystery movie in the making, "The tunnel sock monster, will he get you?"

snicker. boys are so terrible. i guess girls can be too. i am clinging to a lot of really old and ratty underwear. the elastic is so loose that they are comfortable. i would rather wear these than buy new ones or go up a size. :)

Ew. I might be a packrat, but I make it my goal in life to throw out my husband's socks before they get like that. If I have a son one day, I'll do the same for him.
