My mom was

I discovered a page as I was obsessing, where you could write to these celebrities and join their fan clubs.
Seeing as how I was apparently open to a relationship with any willing celebrity at that point, I found it necessary to fan all of them.
Most of them didn't answer because, let's face it, I was a 12 year old and that's pretty gross. But I remember the ones that did.
Leif Garrett. I'm sorry!!! I didn't know, ok?

I'm not apologizing for Chachi. I should, but I'm not. He was cute. Admit it.

The Fonz, cuz that thumbs up move he had unified America, right? For reals.

But, really? Really? What was I thinking here? Arnold Horshack was not necessary, not necessary at all.

But that was then. I learned my lesson and left the celebrities alone.
Until....
...1990 as a new mother of two small children, when I may have written a fan letter to Color Me Badd.

Bite me.

I"m first!!!! Yeah!!
Ok, now the real comment: I never wrote to any celebrity because I felt they wouldn't write back. I was lucky that mom despite sheltering us, did let us put posters of hot guys all over our walls. I even had a huge one of Luis Miguel (Mexican singer) on my ceiling wearing nothing but his sexy underwear.
haha dont feel bad, i'm in my late 30s and cyber stalking joel mchale... sigh...
If I were a teen idol, being stalked by you would be a dream!
lol. we all have our idols...even otin. smiles.
LOL That is SOOO rich.
I had Sean Cassidy ON my wall. Ha! ;o)
And it's lucky we never knew what a man-whore Scott Baio was back then.
But my earliest fan crush was Desi Arnaz Jr. I think I was seven.
OK, you opened the gates and let the tiger(beat) out of its cage - I had posters on my walls of Donny Osmond and David Cassidy. I would kiss my "To You With Love Donny" poster good night every night.
Damn, I never wanted to admit that.
Lol, I never out anything on the walls when i was teenager. My son is not even 8 yet, he did already:)It is great to see him enjoying his life and having fun.
UMmm Ihad the Scott Baio pic.. LOVED him period.. Horshcak?? umm he was the geeky kind of cute so yeah I can see it.
I think I wrote one to Fred Savage one time. And for the longest time I was convinced that I was going to marry Lance Bass someday (and I was in my 20s when I thought that).
Guess things have a way of working out. :)
Oh yes, I loved me some Color me Badd! I think I still have a copy of their CD some where! Or maybe it was a cassette tape! lol
I was a huge fan of New Kids on the Block. I also loved Marky Mark from the Funky Bunch (aka Mark Walhburg). I had his photos of him in his underwear boxer ads all over my walls! YES I was one of the lucky ones and my mom let me cover my walls with everything!
;)
oh, i loved color me badd and scott baio. i watched scott on Charles in Charge. i follow him on twitter now. he is still cute. take care.
Yep, that settles it, we really were twins separated at birth - I had the same obsession with Teen Beat and Tiger Beat magazines - and my mom wouldn't let me hang posters on the wall, either. I drooled over the same people you did - except Horshack...c'mon, Travolta was much hotter! ;)
Oh that's just too funny! (My mom didn't let me put up posters either...)
On a random note, did you hear that Leif Garrett was just arrested (again) on drug possession charges in LA? He looks AWFUL... his face was all cut up and he is bloated and bald. What a sad situation. He was a cutie way back when.
:) Robin
Okay, yeah...Scott Baio definitely. Leif Garrett -- eh. I can even get behind The Fonz. But Horshack? Ack!
I can relate, although my Mom let my sister and me put up the posters. Kirk Cameron was my favorite! Told everyone that I would love him forever... But, Horshack???!!! Girl, you are brave for admitting that one! Thanks, though, that made my morning! Thanks for sharing, we all have those Horshacks in life, I guess! :)Marybeth
http://suiteheart.blogspot.com/
You are so funny. Lucky for me, my Mom did not care what I did on my walls...it looked like a ghetto.
I am working on a post about my old boyfriends too...we have some loves in common!!!
LOL. Funny post. I never wrote to a celeb but sis have posters on the wall. Also the Fonz was the man back in the day.
I had my idols on my wall. Your
post so beautifully reminded me of my youth. Thanks
Have a great day,BL
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
I just read how Leif Garret was arrested again for heroin posession. It is tragic what turns life takes.
Heck yeah, Chachi was cute!! The other ones - not so much for my tastes but to each her own right?
I had animal posters on my walls. Mom wouldn't allow "guy" posters, although I did manage a Poison one when I was 17. Didn't stay up long lol!
Shawn Cssidy for me. I can still remember playing his record over and over....sigh.
I never wrote to any of the celebrities but I loved Tigerbeat.
You know... the one guy in CMB... there in the front... the nerdy one that they've tried really hard to make "cool..." He's kinda got some Horshack qualities to him.
I think you've got a serious secret desire for nerds.
LOL. That was great. I'm with ya on all of them except Horshack. Really?!?
But Eternal Lizdome is right, that CMB guy does kinda look like him. Hmm?
I never wrote fan letters. Now I want to. Hold on while I get my writing paper...
Ooooh! Oooooooh! (that was my best printed Horschak...)
Writing the adult fan letter with bad intent is a hoot. I read that Steve (Blue's Clues) got hit on all the time...
You were a lot braver than I. I never actually wrote a fan letter.
Don't think I've ever written a fan letter.
But I LOVED Color Me Badd!!!!
LOL...and I don't blame you for Scott Baio. Who doesn't love him!?
I used to have THE BIGGEST crush on Scott Baio. Charles in Charge was my very favorite show. Also River Phoenix. I sure knew how to pick em.
I used to bug my mom all the time to get me Tiger Beats at the grocery store! I can't believe that magazine is still around. :)
Who is that last guy?!?!
I remember how much you liked Color Me Badd...you had that gross old shirt with the holes in it. Ahahaha Color Me Badd
Color Me Badd! HAHAHA! You know, they ARE Oklahoma natives. Something that my home state has tried to sweep under the rug for a couple of decades now. ;)
I was a Kirk Cameron and Ralph Macchio girl myself.
I still watch Karate Kid and drool! Too funny!
Oh, I loved my TigerBeat! Chachi was cute and for awhile I was all about Matt Dillon, he's so pretty. But.. Guess what? The Horshack thing. I get it. It was that regal nose I think. Didn't put him on my wall but remember thinking, He's actually kind of cute, why did they give him the nerd part!
I was getting worried that no one else would mention Ralph Macchio, finally the previous post did!!! I had one wall my sophmore year that was PLASTERED with pictures from the mags. You name it, Shaun Cassidy, David Cassidy, Ralph Maccio, Scott Baio, Leif Garrert, they were all there, no Donnie Osmond though. All put up with thumbtacks, it was a rented house, dad HIT the roof when we moved. After graduation it was a poster of David Lee Roth, half naked coming up out of the pool on my ceiling (could not see the tacks) above my bed!!!!
I still dance around the living room when "Da Doo Ron Ron" or "I Was Made For Dancing", come on the oldies staion. Boy howdy you KNOW you are getting old when the song that was playing ("Tonight's The Night" Rod Stewart) the first time you-you know, comes on the oldies station.
I was huge into NKOTB. My Mom had a huge cork board on our walls I covered it with who was in and who was hot. I so loved it.. I love Color me Bad.. Wow the memories..
Tiger Beat!! That was my camp name because of that magazine! Wow! I haven't thought about that in years!!
You left out Shaun Cassidy! Ooh, and Parker Stevenson. I loved those Hardy Boys!
LOL! I never wrote to anyone, but I was a 100% sure I was going to marry George Michael... and then he turned out to be gay. *sigh*
Oh, my walls were covered with cute boys...but I didn't hit my stride until hair metal arrived. Then my walls were covered with hair metal bands and I was absolutely in love with Trixter...probably never heard of them...I will admit I wrote a letter... or two. I actually have a scrapbook of all the things I clipped out of magazines about them. Hee hee...this might turn into a blog post. I wonder where that scrapbook is??
I was just thinking about Tiger Beat magazine--my source for news as a teen--this week. Then *poof* yesterday there's a story in the paper about Leif Garrett getting arrested (again) for heroin (again) on the LA subway (again).
Teen Beat brings back memories! I had almost every inch of my bedroom covered with posters and pics of Andy Gibb torn from that and other mags!
Haha!! I remember writing to all the fan clubs too. I thought for sure we would be best friends and then I would become famous. It was pretty disappointing when my best friends never wrote back. :)
That is hillarious!
Even as a teenager the teen magazines did not appeal to me. I've never been one for celebrity worship in any form. Like, ever. But I sure think your post is cute!
hahaha the color me bad part made me laugh. You just couldn't give up the celebrity worship huh?
OMGOSH, I loved, loved Leif Garrett and The Fonz...dreamed about them. I stink think Henry Winkler is gorgeous. Todd reminds me of Horshack sometimes, his silly giggle and just the way he acts at times. LOL I also loved Color Me Badd, I actually have a few of their songs on my iPod. LOL
We are so MUCH alike.
Hugs,
Sissy
Mine were Davey Jones and the oldest boy from the Partridge family ; -)
Is that George Michael i nthat lst photo?
I was a teen magazine junkie too....
Color Me Badd, huh? bwahahaha
It was New Kids on the Block for me.
WOE OH OH OHHH OH . . .
I clearly had no life, as I did not put up posters of hot stars, I put up posters of the Terminator. I also had a plan to cover my walls completely with different things--pictures, postcards, whatever--by the year 2000. I called it "complete plasterization by 2000". I am *so* glad I'm not a teenager anymore!
I was an NKOTB girl.
And Leif was just arrested for drug possession!
Your never too old for the hotties o'the day :) Mine is Sawyer from LOST at the moment - YUM.
hahaha i was totally obsessed with nkotb, and when titanic came out, my man leo was ALL i thought about 24 hours a day. i was never bright enough to join fan clubs though. hmm. i off to go see if ryan reynolds has one- if not, i am going to start it.
no judgement or anything...but REALLY Color me Badd?! baaaaaahaaaaaaa!!
I was obsessed with NKOTB, when they had their reunion {me as a 30 yr old DIVORCED woman} I totally had visions of Kimberly Wahlberg dancing in my head}
sigh
"To the tick Tock you don't stop, to the tick tock you don't stop" Come on now, who doesn't love Color Me Badd? Did you know that guy in the middle - in seventh grade I would have know all their names but now I have no clue - the hot one, he runs a tire shop? I thought that it was an interesting career change.
Oh, and Charles in Charge - I would so jump at the chance to get with that hot mess!
What a walk down memory lane!!! I used to sleep with the latest issue of Tiger Beat under my pillow :)
and I did write to Donny Osmond once......even in purple ink!
OMgosh that is sooo funny! I wrote to Kirk Cameron and after watching Stand By Me and falling head over heels in love with River Phoenix, wrote to him numerous times. I never received anything back though. He probably thought I was some creepy obsessed stalker LOL.
For the record, I too had a crush on Scott Baio but not until his Charles in Charge days.
HOW FUNNY! Horshack??? Ha...
My fan letters went to Kirk Cameron, who I was in looooooooooooooove with... and Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink, Mannequin).
I love it!
And my husband sent a letter to David Hasselhoff about the many ways to make KITT (the car in Knight Rider) better. I think all he got back was a signed 8x10 glossy of Hasselhoff, which he thought was really lame. He actually wanted them to use his ideas to make the car better.
Bahaha!! Them bad boys and their earings LOL!
LOL!!! I had a poster of Ralph Macchio up on the ceiling in my room, so that I could wake up and see him first thing in the morning! ...and this was before Karate Kid.
So funny! Thanks for the smile this morning!
Lol! That is pretty funny. I had a few posters up, but I think I did it more just because my friends did.. I never got the whole celebrity crush thing very much.
all i can do is laugh.. i mean really laugh...
by the way.. i think we had the SAME mother... no posters on the wall.. ever!!!
Yeah I never actually wrote a celebrity. However, I did have Scott Baio on my wall. Though I must say it was Rob Lowe who graced my wall with the biggest poster for the longest time. *sighs wistfully*
Uh & I thought Leif Garrett died of an overdose like 3 years ago until I saw he was just arrested again. I think he needs to be on celebrity rehab!
I have no idea what you were thinking with Horshack..really? Really?
and all I can say to the Color me Badd. is Baahahahah
love ya anyway ;-)
I'll up you one... I SAW Color me BadD in concert... they opened for PAULA ABDUL!!!!! Oh mercy!
OK, I never hung up posters or wrote to celebs, but I always wanted to!
Scott Baio is hot. Wow talk about flashbacks to the 80's err earlier.

what a great post...I stalked, um, I mean loved geni frances for yrs...had her pic all over my walls. tons of fan letters, she always responded;)
LOL.
Chachi. Ok ok I'll give you Chachi...
This chick is just too old to relate but my kids...different story.
Ya'll have a fantastically blessed day!!!
So what. We all have that little kid inside us no matter how old and "mature" we get. So you wrote a fan letter. Who am I to judge.
That's truly phenomenal.
The only person I ever wrote a letter was Bill Clinton, so I could tell him what a bad job he was doing.
I was 10, mind you, and had no idea I'd later be a registered democrat.
Chachi was definitely a better use of your time.
LOL! I had a lot of NKOTB on my walls!
I so remember those magazines!! I was all about Matthew Borderick... Ricky Schroeder... George Michael (good lord) Timothy Hutton... Tom Cruise (shudders) Rob Lowe and all the guys in his rat pack. Sheesh.
I did get an autographed photo of Matthew Borderick. Supposedly sent by him. Yuh huh, I was so cool.
Recently, our mailman accidentally gave us someone's child's teen mag. I didn't put it back in the mailbox until I had flipped through it to see if they were the same as I remember them. Those teen mags haven't changed-just the faces.
Okay and I also wanted to check for any info. on the cute guy from Twilight. I admit it-I am not ashamed.
I met Scott Baio recently. He's surprisingly normal.
My faves were Tom Cruise (always and forever, no matter WHAT anyone says), Ricky Schroeder, Jason Bateman, Patrick Swayze. Oh, and my first ever fan letter was to Kirk Cameron.
I never had the guts to write to anyone famous!
LOL re: Color me Badd! HAHAHHAHAH
my mom was same but she gave in at the end.....
i wish i knew these cuties but i don't..
I liked Scott Baio too but I was much more a fan of Vinnie Barbarino than Horshack. Now I'm a Hugh Jackman kind of girl. LOL
great thanks for putting -I wanna sex you up into my head... that was them wasn't it?
oooh oooh ooh ya!
anyway, I plastered some hair metal posters from some magazine up on my walls.. but it was mostly to irritate my mom...so they came down pretty quick.
I nevered joined any fanclubs either...
It's funny what having two small kids at home by yourself will do to you... all my crushes tend to be on the sweet cute old men instead of the hunk o' the day... what kind of scary thing does that tell you about my brain? yikes! : P
Oh man. Kudos to you for admitting that shit! LOL!
I read the magazines. I had the posters. Those were the days.
But I never wrote to a celebrity.
Color Me Badd! I'm wiping tears from my eyes. So funny!
Ha ha! I think we all did something similar. Glad you are brave enough to admit to it! :)
I haven't thought of Tiger Beat in years! I'd rip out pictures of John Travolta and tape them up on my bedroom wall just to irritate my mother. She would mutter "John Revolta" and tear them down.
*picture Elaine from Seinfeld here...*
OH ! GET OUT!
I was JUST going over an old box of Tiger Beats that my gave me years ago! How FUNNY this post is at this particular time. Weird, just weird!
Horshack????
Ooh ooh ooh, Color Me Badd! Between the extra letter in their name and the delectable facial hair, they were hard to resist. As in impossible.
Oh Man ... that Tiger Beat takes me back!!! And why did everyone like the Fonz!? Even then, he looks so much older than the teen he supposedly is!
wow.
I never considered writing fan mail.
That's GREAT! I love it!
That brings back memories. I try not to be evil...but I don't let my kids put posters on the walls either. Yikes. I am bad aren't I? I liked Scott too:)
I have never heard of Color Me Badd...what am I missing?
hahahahaha your showing your age my dear! But I wrote to plenty my self like Kirk Cameron,New Kids On The Block, oh yeah Color me Bad was awesome BUT I was not a mom yet! Wow Im evil then too because I dont allow posters on my Daughters walls either BUT its because she used duck tape. Yeah think about that so now shes not allowed period because she ruined it before she even began!
PS.How you holdin up dear? I emailed you back again but never heard a word.
I read those magazines too! I never joined any clubs or wrote letters though...
Who is Color me Badd?? I must have missed something!!
Thank you for this post - it totally made my morning! My parents didn't allow me to hang anything on my walls either. And I had a crush on Corey Haim (what was I thinking?) and Richard Greico. And Kirk Cameron. So disgusting. I also liked N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys when I was 25. Someone shoot me.
you forgot new kids on the block. for shame.
I LOVED Joannie Loves Chaichi!!!!!!
Ahhh.... happy days...
I drooled over Tiger Beat, too. Good stuff.
Oh my... my momosounds like yours so now I let my girls plaster their walls. I will paint them one day and no one will ever know all the posters & pictures were ever there.
I was a huge Happy Days fan & Joannie loves Chaichi.
Finally, something I have never done - sent a fan letter or joined a fan club.
Whoops! I did join the Dr. Demento Fan Club long ago in my craven youth. Does that count? Stay Demented!
Are you sure your mom wasn't my mom? My mom never let us put up posters or anything on our walls. She also didn't let us subscribe to Tiger or Teen Beat or Right On magazine but when we got a hold of one, we'd be drooling with the rest of the girls. Michael Jackson, Foster Silvers, Chachi, Shaun Cassidy....at the time were hot!!!
Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Chachi, oh Chachi. Yes, he was a cutie!
LMAO!! So awesome! I loved Chachi. He was the best! But my heart throb crush was Jonathan Brandis. heehee
Bite me? LOL!
With Leif Garrett I think we can all be glad that he was just an imaginary boyfriend.
Oooooohohweohweoh.
Ay!! You are soo darn funny!!!
I never wrote any fan letters. I don't think I can do it now? or yes? Maybe they'll think I'm too old and some kind of freaky stalker!! LOL!!
That Girl Scout comment is from me. My troop is creating a blog and I forgot to log of that account!!!!
Oooh! Ooooh! Ooohh! (my tribute to Arnold Dingfelder Horshack) I read TIGER BEAT!!! I LOVED that magazine!
The Fonz is just stinkin' cool...
I had it bad for Tony DeFranco...real bad........
peace out!
Color Me Badd. YES! LOL.
We couldn't hang anything on our walls. Didn't go with the decor!
how funny! when all the other girls my age would ooh and aah over shaun cassidy, i LOVED leif garrett! i don't think i ever wrote him a letter but i was sooo in love with him! i think he was my first crush. have you seen him lately? scary.
I didn't like my children to put posters up either. Silly me! I have learned so much since then.
Those were people to love, even Horshack, he was funny!
Oh my gosh, I my sister and I LOVED Tiger Beat! And that is so funny how you wrote about writing letters!
I remember filling one of them out to Robbie Benson!!!!!!! Remember the movie Ice Castles? They made a remake of that movie!
no "bite me" required! i LOVED color me badd! totally obsessed.
and these days, i'm totally in love with kellan lutz - so who am i to judge!
Late 40's here!!!! I recognized Robby Benson on the cover!!!! Oh man! I can't remember the last time I saw a Tiger Beat mag!!!
One of these day's I am going to go to your blog first thing in the morning -- maybe then I will not always be in the 100's, LOL!!
I loved Color Me Bad!! I think I might still have one of their cd's -- when we take long car trips we break out the cd folder's!! :)
LOL. My Tiger Beats had Johnny Depp and Richard Greico from 21 Jump Street, Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains, and The New Kids on the Block. I never worked up enough guts to write a letter. I did, however, do a collage of all kinds of movies, tv shows, and stars on the front and back of my bedroom and closet doors. I'm a little embarrassed about it now. The collage might come off a little stalker-like, but at the time I thought it looked super cool.
I have given you a blog award on my blog for being a top commenter in January. Stop by when you can to pick it up.
I remember those days. I was in love with Chaichi too and The Fonz was a bit old for me but I could see the draw. Did old-time George Clooney from Facts of Life make your list? I was always on the fence about him, but not anymore!
I haven't been able to leave comments on your blog lately because I'm having a problem with my Open ID account. So I'm commenting anyway and it's going to lead you to my old blog which will redirect you to my new blog. Sorry about that, hope to get it remedied tomorrow.
Scott Baio is still pretty cute!
I don't know what we were thinkin about the fonz though!
Did "fun tack" not exist back in the day? That's the only thing my mom would let us use to hang stuff on the wall.
oh, and Color Me Badd - how do we know that you were not secretly the head of their fan club ;-)
Love me some SCOTT BAIO!!!
singing***I wanna sex you up!!***
Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about those mags. I also used to pore over them. I had a whole scrapbook on Johnny Depp.
haha too funny. I was so in love with NKOTB. Man they were the thing when I was young.
Color me ILL! Ewww!
That really takes me back - my older sister was a Tony DiFranco fanatic. But I have no idea who Color Me Badd is.
OMG1 Mine were(ok, I'm totally showing some age here) Donny Osmond and David Cassidy. Thinking back still puts a little pitter pat in my heart.
oooh oooh oooh Mr Kotterrrrr!
Oh don't we all have those :)
I am not going to say who I was going to marry because then I would seem so old!! I didn't marry him(he's dead now). Oh to be young and in love with a movie or music star!
My step mom at the time wouldn't let me put up anything on my walls.
I am not going to say who I was going to marry because then I would seem so old!! I didn't marry him(he's dead now). Oh to be young and in love with a movie or music star!
My step mom at the time wouldn't let me put up anything on my walls.
I remember those guys so well. I had to get my penpals from overseas to give those pics.
I never wrote to any celebrities but I did have my walls plastered with the posters.
Color Me Badd! ROTF!
I think alot of us are from the same time aahhh the wonderful late 70's early 80's LOL Oh did you see that leif was arrested again for drug possesion? And why does he look like a pirate now. I look at that pic that you have of him on your post and think... what did we even see in these people. I love your blog, its so great.
I don't share any of your secret shame...but I was in love with the karate kid so what can I say?
lol
Girrrl, you took me down memory lane with the Tiger Beat stuff! All cuties ... at the time! My big crushes at 12 were John Travolta and Andy Gibb, not bad! But ... my first crush at 10 was Potsie, LMAO!!
LMAO Is that Charles in Charge?
Omg you just aged yourself here honey....careful haha!
Color Me Badd....OMG. Talk about blast from the past. Yes, I admit. I used to listen to them too.
I'll take Chachi but you can keep all the rest! ;)
You are right about Horshack, but I can see the rest. lol I always liked Color Me Bad too. I remember when they guest starred on 90210.
I had my room wallpapered with those fan mag pics, then my parents decided they didn't want them up any more and they took them all down! I still remember how utterly FURIOUS I was, in fact it still makes me kinda mad just thinking about it!
Wow I love all yours except Horshack..hes cute in a weird sort of way but not my type..I loved David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, and Chad Everett (older man) from medical center..hey am I dating myself..?also Brandon Cruz and Danny Bonaduce..yeah my mom let me cover the walls with them..did you end up letting your kids cover their walls..? I did although my kids kept changing their minds and it was so annoying to have to help redo it all the time...hey I just realized Im always like the last of all your commenters...not like it matters but..I want to be first...I will try next time...Im just so behind in everything...Have a great day..!!
Horseshack? Not Vinny? Maybe you felt sorry for him. I bet Horseshack would love a fan letter from you today.
Sounds like Otin would.
O.M.G. - toooooooooo funny! I was with you (but I'll deny it) until I read about Horshack. Hello?! That's what happens when Tiger Beat readers go unchecked.
Color Me Badd??!! I laughed so hard I thought I would cough up a lung!
Obviously you have enough comments and don't know mine, But I am sitting her bawling from the blog I read earlier...and then I see yours and I have more tears pouring down my face...from laughter. Arnold Horshack??? OMG!!! I just had Michael Jackson and Donny Osmond...Oh yeah, the Fonz too. See ya!
OH YEAH! NOW you are talkin'! I had LOVE for these fellas too! MINUS Horshack but then I had sympathy love for that pathetic soul.
I loved Shawn Cassidy too...DREAMY!
When I was young, I had posters of Elvis and Ricky Nelson on the walls.
Probably others I don't remember now. It is fun to look at some of the old mags and posters, isn't it? I read a news article this week about Leif Garrett. I used to think he was cute too. So sad, he looked terrible in a photo and has major drug problems. As for Chachi, I thought he was the best!
Oh Tiger Beat! I'm sure I single-handedly put the editor's kids through college with all the magazines I bought. Mine had Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio and Matt Dillon in it. - G
ChaChi? I thought he was Charles in Charge? :)
Ohhhhh...the GOOD ol' days....sometimes I wanna go back:) LOL!
I left you an award over at my blog!
http://agofish.blogspot.com/2010/02/little-ray-of-sunshine.html
I find it funny how my heart throbs of the past turned out in real life. Just glad I didn't really end up with any of them!
Hey, we must be sisters. We have the same mom.
Hugs!!
OMG I used to read Tiger Beat. My faves: Leif, Shaun Cassidy and RIck Springfield.
I had a life size Shaun poster (the shame) and all his albums.
I met the Fonz once. My friend found out where they used to play softball every weekend and we happened to go there! He was actually really sweet.
-->Great, now I want to s*x you up is in my head. Still love that song!
www.websavvymom.com
I don't think I ever wrote any fan letters. I saw one of the singers from Color Me Badd on one of those flash back shows. He really let himself go - he was well over 300 lbs!
I am still a celebrity watcher. I follow a bunch of them on twitter. Maria Shriver follows you back! I swear to god!!
Those were my magazines of choice! I had them all over my wall! I did write a letter once. To Patrick Swayze...but he didn't send a picture or nuttin':(
I had a Fonzi doll! Yes I did!
Ha! I so used to write to celebrities as a tween and think they were really getting my letters!
Too funny! Following you from FFF on MBC!
I think we must be about the same age since I LOVED Leif, and Scott and Shaun and all the others. I devoured each issue ot Teen Beat and Tiger Beat.
Thanks for the memories! Too funny!
Ummm. I just watched Twilight last week, and now I obsess over Rob Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. My husband thinks it's weird because I'm in my 30's, and they aren't?!?
I had a cruch on Chachi and Fonzi too. I've got to admit, I didn't have one on Horshack. : )
Color Me Badd??? NO WAY!!
If I remember correctly, they wanted to sex us up. All of us.
Oh shut UP you did not do that! Now, I can understand Scott. Charles in Charge was irresistable. Strangely, my mother seemed to have something for those boy bands (when she was in her 50s).
you just made me laugh and laugh!!!!!!!!!!! color me bad!!! b ah hahaha ha !
i was obsessed with van halen as a teenager. OBSESSED. i had all their albums and posters posters and i would pretend to sleep with the lead singer (david lee roth) one night, and then eddie van halen on the other night. this went on for YEARS. every now and then i would let the drummer or the bassist "sleep" with me. this was all pretend, mind you. YEESH.
LOL. I was looking for Donny Osmond...I guess that shows my age.
ROFL!! I love your stories, and love them more since they're true! You're awesome... =)
LMAO! Especially that last one...oh wow.
You are so funny...
I had two crushes, Kirk Cameron and Axl Rose. Obviously different stages of my life.
Oh I so badly wanted to write fan mail, but we had no stamp and the post was in another country it seems and also the mags , when I found them, were five or more years old! lol
But um you wrote :) hehe.
Well, lucky for you your mom didn't let you put posters on the wall. My Grandma let me put themup & when she wanted to paint my room I spent a whole Saturday washing down the walls.
My sister Michelle had these all over her part of the room.
Oh, blue violet. Horshack?
You kill me.
Da Doo Ron Ron! What about Shaun Cassidy???
What...no New Kids on the Block? You have GOT to be kidding me? They were so hot they are making a comeback......kind of! I had those center posters plastered all over my room. I was crazy.
I loved Scott too and at an early age. Framed at my parents a six year old me...in South Carolina with my parents wearing a Scott tshirt. Now, I wasn't old enough to be wanting celeb shirts I am sure, so my mom must of been a fan.
Speaking of that trip to SC back in the mid-seventies, my parents let me go to the playground at the hotel we were at alone. Can you even imagine? We weren't even in our own country! They always talk about it and laugh how funny it was. Different times for sure. Now I am way off topic. Hope you are doing okay.

This is great!! I had a subscription to Tiger Beat as a teen :) I was in love with Shawn Cassidy and had him plastered all over my wall lol! Thanks this made me have a good laugh!
ok, you ARE funny, think I'm gonna' have to follow you!!
Leif Garrett, but have you seen him now and what he's turned into??? OMG
Luv the bite me! You tell em' girl! I never wrote to anyone, but when liked someone I use to collect all their songs. EVERY ONE!
Horshack?! I can't believe you admitted to that.
LOL I'm so there with you girl, I was allowed to put them up only with that stupid tacky stuff that looked like gum that stuck to the walls :)
Loved me CMB, even saw them in concert I think I may have even stalked them for a while ... lol
But you had me at Horshack his voice killed me ... lol
LOL - I loved new kids on the block and am now focused on getting Justin Timberlake to tweet me. What?
I know it makes me sound crazy but I legitimately have an idea for a digital short I think he should make. :)
I did this too! Fan Clubs were awesome!! do they still do this!?`
Girly You're cracking me up with memories of my two girls, now ages 45 and 47 because their little hearts were thumping wildly over the same dudes! Now my shame was in the likes of Elvis, James Dean and other bad to the bone hunka hunkas. BTW. I'm glad to have met you and visited your funky fun bloggy by way of mutual friend girl, Suzanne. I spit my coffee out at the Arnold Horshack photo!! But, I was also a member of the Leif Garrett fan club, so no apologies necessary!
Plus I had photos of Scott Baio and Shaun Cassidy. Too funny!
The best thing about reading these comments is that you can tell the generation of the commenters just by who they stalked... :-)
