Branding myself as stupid seems a bit harsh, though perhaps warranted.

I’ll let you be the judge. But…be kind. I was young.

“Jay, that looks like it hurts. Maybe I’d better not kiss you.”

“Oh that? That’s nothing? Just a little cut. You can kiss me.”

So I did, and did and did and did and did.

That’s what he said to me. And that’s what I believed.

For years after that.

Until I got one of those little “cuts” myself.
