George Foreman Evolve Grill – Hit or Miss?

I’m a long time fan of the George Foreman grills. We started with the little guy, moved up to the momma bear, and now with the Evolve grill, we’re at big daddy size!

The Evolve grill is different than what we’ve had before though. It comes with a 4-plate starter set which includes 2 grill plates, 1 deep-dish bake pan and 1 slider insert.

The non-stick grill is sloped in design so all the ooky fat and grease drains right into the custom drip tray.

It cooks super fast, and is the only way I grill my hamburgers anymore. I have cooked pork chops and steaks on it too, but burgers are my fave.

The grill plates snap out easily after use, and I just pop them in the sink for an easy cleaning. If you happen to have any stubborn spots, there’s a tool included with the grill to help you scrape them off without harming the non-stick coating.

I also tried the deep dish bake pan. I decided to try to make cornbread. The instruction book has a specific time and temperature to use, so I followed it exactly.

It actually came out pretty well. The top color was appealing, and although the bottom was a little crispier than if baked in an oven, I still liked it.

The bake pan is worth giving another shot, and I’d like to try a lasagna next.

In a nutshell: Maybe I’m just too devoted to the regular grill because I didn’t really care much about having the inserts. But since the inserts are included, I do like that they are all non-stick, removable, and dishwasher safe. And I must admit, I wouldn’t mind trying the waffle plates (which will be available soon.)

The actual grills themselves are phenomenal. They cook super fast, drain the grease and fat off, and the removable plates are so easy to clean!
