Kraft Foods and Cool Whip Holiday Gift Basket Giveaway!

I mentioned before that I’m a Cool Whip snob. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that Cool Whip is my baby whip daddy.

Since I’m heading home to Michigan this week to see my kids, I looked through some Cool Whip holiday recipes to see if there was something new I could make for Christmas dinner. There are so many yummy ideas!

But, I ended up deciding to bake my daughter’s favorite dessert from a recipe my mom has been making since I was a little girl.

Cherry Delight

Graham Cracker Crust:
20 graham crackers rolled fine
2 T sugar
1/2 cup butter melted
Combine and press into bottom of 7 x 11 x 1 1/2″ pan.

Filling:
1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
1 3 oz. pkg cream cheese
2 T sugar
1 can cherry pie filling
2 T milk
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup Cool Whip whipped topping
1/2 tsp almond flavoring

Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk until blended and smooth. Spread over crust.

Fold vanilla and sugar into Cool Whip and spread over the cream cheese layer.

Combine cherry pie filling with almond flavoring and spread over all.

Chill overnight. Cut into squares.

Yield: 8-12 servings

This is sooooo good! I know one little mama who will be getting some big warm hugs from a happy tummy’d daughter!
