I’m afraid I’m going to jinx myself by telling you that I haven’t been sick in at least 4 years.
The last time I was sick I had the flu, and it was bad, oh so very, very bad.
I don’t want to be near anyone, anything, or any place that could possibly cause a repeat of that nightmare.
My family and I do what we can to prevent the spread of germs, like washing our hands frequently, using sanitizing wipes on grocery cart handles, and using disinfectant on things like door handles, light switches, and phone receivers. Plus, if I hear anyone sneezing or sniffling around me, I am o-u-t out of there!
Cool App Alert: If you’re lucky enough to have a smartphone, you can track cold and flu activity within the U.S. by zipcode. Just download the FREE mobile app WheresFlu from Theraflu for your iPhone®/iPod touch®, Android™, and BlackBerry®.
I’m lucky that my area has low cold and flu activity right now (less than 5%), but I’ll be tracking the app to see if that changes. You can also see the 5 most affected cities, places where I will not be traveling anytime soon, thankyouverymuch.
The app also allows you to send yourself and your friends a $2.00 Theraflu coupon! And remember, it’s FREE!

Last Day!

This is great! I need to download this ASAP to see what’s going on in my city!
My husband keeps telling me he’s going to get some kind of smart phone, but alas, I do not have one yet. Argh!
Eeek I am so sick of being sick in this house, I’m afraid to see what that app would say about what is going on around here.
that app would probably make my phone burst into flames just by being in my house
I saw today (while I was picking up Evil’s medicine) that Walgreen’s keeps a poster of the US and shades the states various colors by flue cases. Tennessee was red.
Figures.
That’s cool! Thanks for sharing!

Too late. The flu is at my house!
Great app! It will be great for moms!
I had a smart phone, till I broke it in a moment of anger! LOL
I don’t need to track the flu, it’ll find me no matter what! I always seem to get hit with it.
I think this is pretty cool. Our weather channel shows it during the flu report.
