I never know what to expect when I go to a blog conference, and each time I come home with different feelings about the experience, most of the time, positive.
But this time, I have mixed feelings.
The city of New Orleans itself was amazing, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been there. But therein lies the problem. The city experience was greater than the conference experience.
And that’s a problem for me.
The best part of conferences is that they allow me the chance to meet other bloggers and spend time with those I’ve met before. The connections I’ve formed with people are long lasting and very real, and in this regard, Mom 2.0 was a success.
But I also expect to learn from the sessions, and that’s where I was disappointed. I chose my sessions carefully, but I repeatedly found myself listening to panelists who offered little more than self-promotion.
And that bummed me out.
Most everything else about the conference was wonderful, and I’m not saying that I didn’t learn anything at all, because I did.
But I was hoping for more.
Will I attend next year’s Mom 2.0 in Miami? Yes, probably, because I can’t help but think that the summit crew will continually strive to improve the conference experience going forward, and I’d love to be there to see it happen.

I hope next year will be much better in meeting the needs of attendants.
all experiences we learn from right.
Oh it is in Miami? Then I very well may go to that one. I won’t need hotel expenses or traveling (except gas). Sorry you didn’t get anything out of it. I’m going to SheCon11 next month which will be my first conference. I have no idea what to expect so it should be an interesting experience.
Sorry it wasn’t the experience you wanted. Glad that you enjoyed the city, I have never been there.
Hopefully, they make improvements for next year…but glad you enjoyed the city:)
I was there and find your synopsis to be accurate.
I’ve never heard of this conference. Sorry your experience wasn’t well. Maybe I’ll come to Miami since it’s just about 3 hours away
Oh man that stinks I would hate to walk away from a conference feeling that way. I hope you experience in Miami is MUCH better
