I’m a Mom First and a Blogger Second

In the big picture, my blog means nothing to me. Absolutely nothing.

I’ve deleted it before, and I’d do it again. In a red-hot minute.

I’m a mom first, and a blogger second….a distant second.

So that’s why you haven’t heard a whole lot from me over the last couple of weeks. My son was visiting, and I’ve been enjoying every minute with him.

He’s 20 years old, but he’s my baby.

A messy baby.

And yesterday, I had to put him on a plane and send him back to his summer job.

And the pain is excruciating.

I’ve been crying and crying and crying.

Airport

I miss you, baby. So much.

I’m a mom first. Always.

Aw, I’m sure it doesnt matter how old they get! I was telling Todd just the other day, when I’m 80 something and Kaia’s 60 – yep, she’ll still be my baby girl!

I’m feeling the same way… my daughter was home for 1 stinkin week and then back on the plane to work this summer on campus… I’ve been walking around saying I got jipped because they’re suppose to come home for the WHOLE summer – at least for the first year, right?!! I’m holding on reminding myself she will be home for the month of August – so I got 1 month and 1 week :D (… and ironically, I think I’m gonna start counting the days until my other daughter starts college… only 398 days and at this moment that sounds too long because she’s been getting on my nerves!!) lol

Can’t argue with that, being a mother comes first and foremost. I feel for ya; I’m already having empty nest syndrome and my kids haven’t even left the house yet. My teenage daughter leaves for college next year and I’m sure I’ll be admitted to the nut house shortly after.
