She’s getting married, and I am over the moon happy for her.
But I worry.
I’m the biggest glass half-full waiting for the other shoe to drop worry-wart in my family, and I probably annoy the crap out of everyone, but I can’t help it. I examine every possible scenario in every situation because I don’t like surprises.
And I want to make sure she’s protected once she moves outside her little bubble of parental safety.
If anything happens to him…
Ok, I know that’s morose, but I’m a what if’er, and once they start having children, there’s even more of a need to have a safety net in place.
I saw it with my best friend from high school. Her husband was tragically killed in an accident in their own backyard, and she was left alone with two children, no life insurance, and no financial resources. She was completely devastated and her life was in a tailspin for years.
I’m not expecting anything of the sort to happen to my baby and her baby, but just in case…I need her to be prepared, because it’s important. She’s important.
I love my sweet girl with all my heart, and when I watch her take his hand in marriage next month, I want to know she’s going to be taken care of forever.
Note: I cried a bucket of tears while writing this post, because this is such a relevant, truthful way for me to express how important I feel it is to have a life insurance policy. This is a compensated campaign for Genworth Financial, but I created this content from my heart.

I am the same way. Even worse I even worry about my kids NOW (and they are 3,5,12,&14). I am always thinking about the what -if’s too. And when I watch the news and see all of the tragic unexpected deaths of children, I shiver at the thought of it. I think your being a Great Mom to worry. I have seen the same thing out of HS too. God Bless!
Aaah congratulations, I will be so overly overwhelmed when my daughter gets married! I hope you have a wonderful time!!!! Can’t wait to see the pictures.
