Starting November 1st, Coca-Cola is turning its iconic red Coke cans white for the first time ever!
Why? For the love of polar bears!
The polar bear has long been one of Coca-Cola’s most loved icons, and the company has supported polar bear research and conservation efforts for years, and now they are deepening their support by teaming with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to fight the very real threat facing polar bears and their Arctic habitat.
Coca-Cola and WWF launch the “Arctic Home” Project
Coca-Cola is making an initial $2 million donation to WWF for polar bear conservation. Also, to help raise awareness, Coke is turning its iconic red Coke cans white.
You’ll also see white bottle caps on other popular Coca-Cola products this holiday season.
How You Can Help
The limited-edition white cans and bottle caps will be on store shelves November 1, 2011 to February 2012, and for everyone who texts the package code to 357357 to make a $1 donation to WWF, Coke will match it – up to $1 million! You can also make donations online at ArcticHome.com, starting November 1.
Ya’ll know I live and breathe for my Diet Coke, but the polar bear is also my favorite animal, so this initiative is near and dear to my heart. I am so very proud to be partnering up with Coca-Cola on behalf of the “Arctic Home” project.
