Although I bought my ticket a long time ago for Blissdom, when the time was drawing near, I found myself dreading it and wishing I wasn’t going. I’m not sure if it was because I went to so many conferences last year or what, but I just couldn’t ramp up much enthusiasm for it.
Then I got to the airport where there were five other Nashville-bound bloggers…and well, the tides turned.
I ended up having an even better time than I did last year, and I definitely learned more.
The conference took place at the incredibly beautiful Gaylord Opryland Hotel, where you’re guaranteed to get lost at least once.
The conference kicked off with an opening reception and lots and lots of laughs.
Sessions began the next morning and this is where I really thought Blissdom excelled this year. Not only were the sessions well done and informative, but they had community leaders for blog niches within each session so you could sit with your people – those who blog about the same thing you blog about ie. other foodies, deal bloggers, reviewers, or in my case those who don’t fit into a specific niche.
You could also take a break from the sessions and visit the sponsor booths or hug a Lorax like I did.
Blissdom does a phenomenal job with their nightly entertainment as well, and this year was no exception. Friday evening kicked off with Universal’s The Lorax cocktail party and it was a blast!
Following the cocktail party, Joe Jonas and Rascal Flatts performed and they worked that roomful of women like putty. Putty, I tell you.
I never would have believed it if I hadn’t lived it.
Saturday brought with it another round of excellent sessions, and a wonderful performance during lunch by the amazing Chris Mann.
He’s on The Voice this year, and based on what I heard Saturday, he more than deserves his spot!
All in all, I walked away from Blissdom with a whole bunch of actionable goals and a lot of lasting memories created with wonderful friends.
Note: I had a database corruption and had to do a restore so I lost this post and all comments. The post was easy to put back in, but the comments…not so much. I’m adding them back in manually and I’m slowly working through them. Sorry!

So glad you had such a wonderful time. I feel like I read this but I don’t see my comment.
The other day I hit “mark as read” and missed posts! So glad you pushed yourself and went.
I use to be that way with church retreats but learned quickly how awesome and important they were to attend.
