EPSON Expression XP-400 Small-in-One Printer + Giveaway

“Good things come in small packages.”

The EPSON Expression XP-400 Small-in-One Printer is half the size of my current behemoth of a printer but is every bit as capable. I’ve been using it over the last month and it’s quite the little workhorse!

With it being back-to-school time, I was hoping that the machine would prove to be perfect for my college son, so I had him in mind as I was using it.

Wireless

Wireless-ready configuration is a must in a printer anymore, and the EPSON Expression XP-400 was a snap to get set up and connected to my network. It can also be used with multiple computers.

Mobile Printing

The unit comes with EPSON Connect™, Apple® AirPrint™ and Google Cloud Print™ for convenient wireless printing on-the-go from smartphones, tablets and more.

2.5 LCD Display/PC-Free Functionality

The large flip-up display is easy to read and makes PC-free copying, scanning and printing a breeze. The memory card slots also allow photos to be viewed, cropped and enhanced with just a touch.

Performance

I was really interested in how it would scan and copy because I knew my son would be doing that a lot from his textbooks, and I loved being able to do it right from the display instead of having to do it through my computer.

Print speed isn’t super fast, but I wasn’t expecting that it would be, and it will more than meet my son’s needs.

The color reproduction I received from this printer was outstanding. I used it to copy some activity cards and the colors were duplicated perfectly.

Multi-ink Cartridges

The inexpensively priced cartridges will make the ongoing use of this printer economical. (Black ink cartridges are $12.99 and colored ink is $8.99.) That’s a huge plus to me and to my son (who hasn’t replaced the ink in his current printer for months because it’s so pricey.)

I didn’t have photo-quality paper on hand  so I can’t speak to the quality of photos printed in the XP-400, but the quality of the colors printed on standard paper leads me to believe it will do well in that area also.

I was more than satisfied with the features and functionality, and the reasonable price point makes it a printer well worth considering for casual home use.

Product Dimensions: 15.4” x 11.8” x 5.7” (W x D x H); 11.5 lbs.

Buy It! The EPSON Expression XP-400 can be purchased at major computer, office and electronic superstores, a variety of retail stores nationwide and I found it priced at $101.99 at Amazon.
