I Need Silence, Mute It, Smother It .. For the Love of….SHUT THAT THING UP!!!! + Kidde Worry-Free Smoke Alarms Giveaway

Do not mess with my sleep.

I’ll say it again.

Do.NOT.Mess.With.My.Sleep.

I’m one cranky son-of-a-slumber’er, and if I’m awakened before my time there dang well better be a good reason. A rightly good reason.

So I’ve been known to send a smoke alarm or two crashing to the floor in the dead of night. That blasted chirping when the batteries are dying…. oh lawd,  I hate that sound.

Loathe it.

More than half of homeowners are on my side about that, and seven percent admit that they’re more likely to disconnect the alarm than replace a new battery. (Those who do replace it rarely do so within 24 hours.)

And that’s exactly why I just replaced my annoying chirpers with the new Kidde Worry-Free smoke alarms. The batteries last for 10 years. Ten years, people.

And they’re sealed long-life lithium batteries so they can’t be tampered with or removed until the end of the alarm’s ten year life. That’s 24/7 protection (without chirping) for a decade.

The alarms are location specific, so the smart technology in the kitchen alarm for instance, stops all those nuisance false alerts caused by cooking.

Yes, it’s going to give an end of life chirp, but come on now, I can’t even be mad about that when it stays all hush-y for ten years in a row!

The silence… I can’t hear it now.
