I’m just gonna say it: I don’t like the process of renting a car.
I like driving a rented car, but I don’t like the reserving it part, because it’s confusing, and I’m always left hoping and praying that whatever it was I actually rented will be what I thought I rented for the price I requested.
Confuzzled already? Yes ma’am, I am.
Alamo.com aims to make it all a bit easier and more transparent for us with their newly redesigned site and features:
Alamo Deal Retriever – Scours the current Alamo deals to find the best one for your trip.
Smart Auto-Fill – not a huge deal, but nice when dealing with airports or a city name that’s in every blessed state.
See the Savings – Everything is soooooo easy to see and it’s all on one page. (Photos and descriptions of the various car size options, prices and ways to save, like paying in advance.)
Add Extras Easily – Right after you choose the size car you’d like, you can add your must-have items like car seats, GPS, toll pass devices, and all that jazz.
Upgrade in a Snap – Before confirming, there’s a quick click option to upgrade with price and size differences outlined.
Rates, Taxes, and Fees clearly visible before booking. (No surprises later, it’s all broken down and easy to see.)
Trip Tracker – (available to Alamo Insiders)
Speaking of Alamo Insiders, it’s free to join with just your name, email, and zip code, and it always gives you an additional 10% savings (or more) on your rentals!
One lucky reader will win a Get to Know Alamo prize pack which includes: a $50 AMEX Card, Kindle 6″, Colby 7″ Portable DVD Player, Alamo Wake-up Coffee Mug, Alamo Lynx Sport Bag, Alamo Carabiner Sanitizer with Moisture, Hasbro Travel Battleship, Hasbro Travel Connect 4. (ARV $206).
