This week I went to IHOP to try one of the new Griddle Melts I’d been hearing so much about lately.
The Griddle Melts are available in three varieties:
Spinach, Roasted Pepper & Cheese – Sauteed spinach in a fluffy egg omelet topped with roasted red peppers, onions, melted Provolone, Parmesan and Pepper Jack cheese.
Western – Smoked ham and sauteed peppers and onions in a classic omelet, topped with sliced ham and melted American cheese.
Ham & Egg Melt – Sliced ham and melted Swiss and American cheeses over a fluffy egg omelet.
Each sandwich is served on artisan sourdough bread with a choice of hash browns, French fries or seasonal fruit.
The combination of cheeses on the Spinach, Roasted Pepper & Cheese Griddle Melt was irresistible to me so that’s the one I ordered, and although it’s available as a half sandwich, I ordered the whole thing so I could split it with my boyfriend. (The ham was an extra side we ordered.)
I’m happy to say that the Griddle Melt was a win!
I knew I would like it, but I was shocked by how much. It was an absolutely delicious, hearty and satisfying meal and the cheesy goodness was out of this world.
