Grocery Shopping! (aka Kro-gettin’)

I love grocery shopping, always have! It’s kind of like an escape to me so I tend to dilly-dally, take my time and look at anything and everything.

My most recent trip was to Kroger.

I went Kro-gettin’.

Since I have a bunch of different grocery stores in town, I’m finally learning which ones have and don’t have certain things, and although all of them carry Kraft Fresh Take, when I needed a package for my Fresh Take Flavor Makers Challenge last week, I went to Kroger.

As you may recall, I needed to use Kraft Fresh Take Southwest Three Cheese and the colors orange, green and purple in a recipe.

I had no frackin’ clue what to make when I walked into Kroger, but I headed straight to the cheese and dairy section where I knew I’d find the Fresh Take and maybe some inspiration?

When I picked up the Southwest Three Cheese, it hit me.

TACOS!!!!

And that was that; I was off and cart rollin’.

I grabbed a package of lean ground beef Angus…

and sashayed over to the Mexican aisle where I hemmed and hawed over whether I wanted hard or soft tacos. I didn’t need any sauce or taco mix because I wanted to use Fresh Take as the seasoning, but I grabbed a combo kit of shells to avoid making a decision while in the store.

Then it was off to the produce section to find orange, green and purple veggies, a nice fresh and nutritious way to round out the meal.

And then I went home where I made the delicious Southwest Three Cheese Tacos recipe I showed you last week! (For even more recipe ideas including a downloadable recipe book, visit Kraft Fresh Take and the Kraft Recipes websites.)

Do you like grocery shopping as much as I do?

  1. I do love to grocery shop, but I hate making my shopping list and meal planning!
    We don’t have a Kroger’s near us.

  2. I really wish we had a Kroger, I am always seeing my blogging friends find great stuff there!

  3. I like grocery shopping as long as I’m with someone :)

  4. I love grocery shopping, and I will even drive five extra minutes to go to another Publix rather than the one across the street from my house because they have a better selection of vegan products, nicer looking produce, and best of all, great employees. They just closed yet another grocery chain in my area (Sweetbay) so the only grocery stores available now are Publix and Winn Dixie. I really wish we had more choices to compare prices and get better deals.

  5. I confess, I hate grocery shopping. It isn’t so bad when I’m in a really good routine and know exactly what to get. I’m a label reader though so if I have new things on my grocery list or see something new that looks appealing I’ve always got to read the label before I can decide if it goes in the cart or not.

I like going by myself but I can’t stand going with my girlfriend :P She’s so bossy and she tends to want to spend hours upon hours every time she goes! Unfortunately, we don’t have a Kroger’s any where near us. Thanks for the post.

I actually hate to grocery shop…I hate to shop, period! I know I am in the minority among women….it just takes so much time to do!!! We do not have Krogers in NJ, but it sounds like a great place to shop!

  8. Colorful food is so much more fun to eat, and looks more appealing too! Yum!
As for grocery shopping… Um, no, I do not like it. lol However, I usually have 4 kids tagging along with me, and my list always seems forever long. Someday I may enjoy it though! Glad you do!! :)

  9. I dont have a Kroger where I live in Baltimore Maryland but when I was in Atlanta Georgia visiting relatives, I went to a Kroger. I wish we had one here because it is an awesome store!!
