Brancott Estate Flight Song Wine – Light Wine with Full Flavor #FlightSong

I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Brancott Estate Wines. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

I couldn’t have been more excited to try the new expression of wines from Brancott Estate, Flight Song, lighter in calories with the full flavor and complexity of the original varietals.

Brancott Estate was the first to plant the Sauvignon Blanc grape in the Marlborough Region of New Zealand, and the wine is world renowned for its flavor tastes. To produce a lighter wine which still has exceptional tastes and aromatics, the grapes are harvested early and the fermentation stage is closely controlled.

Brancott Estate Flight Song is described as classically ‘Marlborough’ with a taste profile that is expressive, bright, fresh and lively with balanced natural acidity.

I don’t know much about “taste profiles”, but I do know what I like and that’s really all that matters to me when it comes to wine. Since white wines are my favorite and Pinot Grigio tops my list, I was pretty sure I was going to like these.

And I did!

Brancott Estate Flight Song Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is pale green straw in colour. On the nose, this wine presents pink grapefruit and passion fruit notes with a sweet pungency and ripe lemon acidity excites the palate.

Upon opening the bottle, I immediately caught the grapefruit aroma and it was very evident in the taste as well. It was a crisp and refreshing wine, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Brancott Estate Flight Song Marlborough Pinot Grigio is pale straw in colour. On the nose, this wine presents an array of floral notes with nashi pear and sweet lemon, while white peach and guava create a full palate with ripe, citrus like acidity.

With the Pinot Grigio, the aroma didn’t single anything out for me, but I could pick up the peach and pear on my tongue when I was sipping it. It was crisp and full of flavor. I enjoyed this one as much as the other.

I’ve tried light wines in the past, but I’ve always been disappointed, so I’m delighted that Flight Song is a wonderfully full-flavored experience.
