About Me

My name is Liz, and I’m the mom to two amazing kids who have given me more joy than I ever thought possible.  I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom for all of their childhood years, and I loved every bit of it. Now that my oldest is newly married, and my youngest is a senior in college, I’m begrudgingly learning to live with an empty nest. And I do mean begrudgingly.

I started my blog, A Nut in a Nutshell, when my youngest left for college. I was looking for something to fill my time, and blogging did just that.

I’m currently living in coastal North Carolina, but am looking forward to a move back to the Midwest within the next little while. A girl needs her seasons, ya’ll. (And she needs to lose her “ya’ll”.)

I’m hopelessly addicted to Diet Coke, pizza, reality tv, and trying out new recipes. And I love to laugh!
