So funny, we had those nasty, stinky, dirty machines in Connecticut, too. I hated to bring them back, but just wouldn't throw them out because I knew that I PAID for them!
Here in Florida, we just have the recycle bins, and in the community we live in they don't even take the glass, only the metal and some plastic. And like mama-face, we have to PAY to have it taken away!!

it's a cool looking machine though... we take our to a big whole depo place but and actually have to sort our bottles and make sure they're empty etc. Oh and watch out for the bleach... NEVER wear good clothes there.

We have the same thing out here in CA. Big pain, I agree. My sense of frugality can't just put it in our regular recycling can here at the house. If I paid the money, I want it back! So, they just collect in my garage until I get enough to make it worth my time to do it... :)

My kids would love to do that! Our cans get picked up (along with other recycling) with our trash; we can take the cans to a center if we want cash, but it's a pain in the a$$. SO not worth the few bucks we would get.

We don't have those here in Illinois....just big blue containers that we put out for the recycling guy to take. Spencer gets a kick out of seeing the truck pick up all the recyclables so that makes it worth it!

They pay you to recycle? OMgosh that's kinda awesome!! LOL...I just take mine to the recycling center and they make all the money! But then again...I just pull up through them in the container...I couldn't imagine feeding them into a machine! Have a great week!

Never seen or heard of 1 of those machines until today. here in FL we just put everything in recycle bins. I do have fond memories of going around with a wheelbarrow as kid collecting bottles to make some money. My cousin and & I would always hit the houses that were under construction-we were sooooo rich. That is until we got home and had to share our hard earned wages.

Love Diet Dr. Pepper and am totally missing the vanilla cherry diet Dr. Pepper, that was truly my fave!

I hated those machines when we lived in Mass. I've got to say I enjoy living in Colorado where we can just throw them in the recycling bin and the nice man takes them away for me. I don't miss the deposits at all.

We have that here too. And as cheap and coupon cutting as I am, I can't bring myself to use those can machines any more. I just hated waiting in line in order to smell like beer and collect a whopping $1.05. Just not worth it any more. I leave mine for the neighbor to pick out of my recycling bin.
